The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, celebrates 40 years of supporting visual artists and building connections between artists, collectors, and the community in 2027 a milestone year that will include the 26th Annual 4 Bridges Arts Festival (4BAF), April 16–18, 2027.
A highly anticipated and culturally prominent event, 4BAF is a nationally recognized juried festival offering $15,000 in artist awards. For 26 years, strong community support has helped 4BAF develop an audience of avid and knowledgeable art buyers, from seasoned collectors to those just beginning to build their collections.
The three-day weekend begins with artist setup Friday morning, followed by the festive Preview Party Friday evening, giving AVA donors, sponsors, and ticket holders early access to meet the artists and purchase work. The festival opens to the public Saturday and Sunday.
One of 4BAF’s distinguishing features is its setting: a sprawling open-air pavilion created from the shell of a former industrial foundry. The roof provides protection from rain and sun while the open sides allow plenty of airflow. Artists also benefit from indoor restrooms, nearby parking, and attentive hospitality throughout the weekend, including snacks, meals, coffee, tea, and beverages. Live local music, a food truck court, and children’s activities add to the festival atmosphere while keeping original art and the artists who create it at the heart of the weekend.
