Tim Conlon Returns to the Hamptons!! Slattery Gallery is pleased to present Still Rolling, a solo exhibition featuring new train sculptures, paintings, and prints by acclaimed Los Angeles-based artist Tim Conlon. On view August 6 through August 31, 2026, the exhibition marks Conlon's first solo presentation at Slattery Gallery, located at 30A Jobs Lane, Southampton, New York. Still Rolling showcases the latest works from Conlon's ongoing G-scale train car series, alongside paintings from his celebrated Blank Canvas series—a body of work that combines typography, abstraction, and trompe-l'oeil to transform freight trains into striking visual studies of history, industry, and urban expression.   TIM CONLON     SCPX #2     2026     7 x 24 x 5 inches Rendered primarily with spray paint, Conlon's paintings bring railroad logos, weathered steel, oxidized surfaces, and layers of graffiti into remarkable focus. These scale studies reflect decades of firsthand observation, the result of countless hours spent walking rail lines and documenting freight cars belonging to rail companies that have since disappeared through consolidation, modernization, and time. The Early Life of Jean-Michel Basquiat With Norman Scherer Saturday, July 18 5-7PM  197 Madison Street  Sag Harbor, New York 11963 On Saturday, July 18, SAAL presents its inaugural Talks & Readings series with collector  and educator Norman Scherer and author David Fishkind. Scherer and Fishkind  examine the origins and fallout of cultural exclusivity across eras. Norman Scherer will reflect on his relationship with Jean-Michel Basquiat  during the formative years of New York's downtown art and club scene.  He worked alongside Basquiat in the late 1970s at the Unique Clothing Warehouse  in the East Village, where the two dressed mannequins and created window displays.  Scherer knew the artist simply as "Jean," years before Basquiat became an international figure.  Scherer presents his collection of Basquiat's early postcards, signed "Jean Basquiat" not "Jean-Michel Basquiat,"  currently on view at SAAL. David Fishkind will read from his debut novel, Don't Step into My Office.  Fishkind has described it as a "maximalist metafiction neo-noir murder-mystery missing-persons family  dramedy—just your typical beach read." Primarily set in East Hampton, the novel explores marriage,  class, and too much time on one's hands, sending up a wide cast of darkly comic Out East archetypes. Don't Step into My Office has been praised by Playboy, Publishers Weekly,  and The Metropolitan Review, as well as by New York Times critic  Molly Young and Pulitzer Prize–winning author Junot Díaz, who called it "laceratingly witty... a revelation."

My Opinion: The ~ Shape of Dreams~  works by Leonora Carrington opened in May, at L'Space Gallery.and runs through July  25th,  2026 . The panel discussion regarding the philosophical motivation; and the emphasis on the occult nature noted by the talk within her works has not been noted in art world  that I am aware of. It does not mean it's not applicable. Tarot, and Kabbalah  were popular during the time frame I have been in the arts.

I have seen Carrington's work over a 50 period of time. Her  artistic process and motivation has been understood  by me as captivating. I walked the Brewster Gallery during  her Exhibition ~Recent Works exhibited in 1990.
