We cordially invite you to the opening and preview of the exhibition Zilla Leutenegger. Zwischenraum / Hindurchzuschaun on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 6:30 pm .

Zilla Leutenegger is one of the most influential voices in contemporary Swiss art. With around ten multimedia installations and a selection of monotypes, the artist is present in various locations throughout the museum. Her quiet, poetic video drawings encounter the mechanical dynamism of Jean Tinguely's machines.

Program:

  • A sumptuous aperitif with music by Max Küng
  • Free admission to the exhibition

As part of the Sound Bar series, we invite music enthusiasts to present their music collections and share insights into their musical background and interests. It takes place on the last Thursday of every month, starting at 6 pm, and admission is free. This time featuring rewired (a queer collective).

The Museum Tinguely is once again part of the Basel Art Days this year. From August 28th to 30th, we invite you to a diverse program of musical and artistic contributions.
A special focus is on Super Saturday on August 29 , when artist lectures, performances and guided tours will open up new ways of accessing the current exhibition Labouring Bodies .

Together we will explore the question of what locality means today. In the field – from tending the plants to sharing a meal – we will discover the multifaceted relationships of a place.

Marilou Schultz

Since the 1980s, renowned American textile artist Marilou Schultz has expanded traditional Navajo weaving techniques with experimental methods and her own dyeing techniques. The artist became particularly well-known for her designs inspired by computer chips, and her practice combines indigenous knowledge cultures with the history of digital technologies.

after Margaret Raspé

The artist Clara Bausch presents her interpretation of the performance Glocken – Wolle (1986) based on the instructions by Margaret Raspé (1933–2023). In her helmet-mounted camera films, installations, poems, and performances, Raspé explored repetitive and automated hand movements, particularly in work associated with women.

Performance und Führung zu Labouring Bodies

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung Labouring Bodies laden wir Sie am Donnerstag, 16. Juli 2026 zu einem abwechslungsreichen Abendprogramm mit Performance und Führung ein. Bei verlängerten Öffnungszeiten haben Sie ausserdem die Gelegenheit, unsere vier aktuellen Ausstellungen zu entdecken.

18 Uhr | Performance Glocken – Wolle  / Tal
Clara Bausch interpretiert Margaret Raspés Performance Glocken Wolle neu. Durch das Zupfen und Reinigen der Rohwolle sowie den Klang der an den Händen getragenen Glocken wird Arbeit als körperlicher und akustischer Prozess sinnlich erfahrbar.
19 Uhr | Führung
Entdecken Sie neue, spannende Perspektiven auf unsere aktuelle Ausstellung Labouring Bodies.

Jeden Donnerstag ist das Museum Tinguely bis 21 Uhr für Sie geöffnet, ab 18 Uhr Eintritt frei. Direkt vor der Tür sorgt der Tinguely Beach für sommerliche Abkühlung im Rhein – vor oder nach Ihrem Museumsbesuch. Für den perfekten Rheinschwumm ist ebenfalls gesorgt: Zwei neue Museum Tinguely Wickelfische, inspiriert von unserer aktuellen Ausstellung Labouring Bodies und der kommenden Ausstellung mit Zilla Leutenegger sind exlusiv im Museumsshop erhältlich. 

 

Every Thursday, Museum Tinguely is open until 9 pm, with free admission starting from 6 pm. Right outside our front door, Tinguely Beach is the perfect spot to cool off in the Rhine – either before or after your visit. Ready for a swim? We’ve also got you covered for the ultimate Rhine swim: two new Museum Tinguely Wickelfisch swim bags, inspired by our current exhibition Labouring Bodies and the upcoming exhibition featuring Zilla Leutenegger, are exclusively available at the museum shop.

Natascha Moschini (Kaserne LAB Artist) führt mit der Physical Introduction durch Bewegung statt Worte in die Ausstellung Reverb ein. Mit einfachen Körperübungen werden die Sinne des Museumspublikums geweckt und für den Ausstellungsbesuch geschärft. Das Format richtet sich an alle Interessierten, unabhängig vom Alter und der Bewegungserfahrung.

In this Physical Introduction, Kaserne LAB Artist Natascha Moschini introduces the exhibition Reverb through movement rather than words.
