Ortiz has developed a distinctive practice spanning drawing, writing and typography. He makes drawings every day, turning his practice into a disciplined routine. Repetition, accumulation and subtle variations across different materials and approaches are part of Ortiz's process, allowing him to trace and question the passage of time. His major exhibitions include a solo show at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires (2016), the Biennale of Sydney (2016), the São Paulo Bienal (2012) and the Lyon Biennale (2011). His work is held in the collections of MoMA (New York), the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (Paris), Deutsche Bank (Berlin), Kadist, the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros and the Museo de Arte Moderno La Tertulia (Cali), among others. Serpentine North 23 September 2026 – 31 January 2027 Serpentine presents a major solo exhibition of New Delhi-based artist and filmmaker Amar Kanwar (b. 1964, New Delhi, India), one of the most prominent artists working in moving image today. On view at Serpentine North, the exhibition runs from 23 September 2026 until 31 January 2027.   For over two decades, Kanwar has developed a distinctive body of lyrical films that move between documentary, travelogue and visual essay to explore the specific conditions of the Indian subcontinent. Having produced and directed numerous films and multi-video installations, Kanwar’s poetic and contemplative works are frequently marked by the history of his country, tracing the legacies of decolonialisation and the Partition of India and Pakistan. Whilst charged with a regional specificity and deeply personal histories, Kanwar’s work grapples with some of the most pressing issues of our time. Reckoning with the past as a means to better comprehend the present, Kanwar bears witness to social upheaval, displacement, power, violence, justice and memory, ultimately revealing what unites – rather than differentiates – us, regardless of geography or context. Within the darkened galleries, visitors will encounter a trilogy of transfixing films by Kanwar: the feature-length Such a Morning (2017), the multi-screen installation The Peacock’s Graveyard (2023), and a new multi-screen installation titled The Charcoal Man (2026), which premieres at Serpentine.   Press pack and images are available below and through our Media Centre, accessible below. Following the opening of its new permanent Mayfair gallery, Charles Burnand Gallery presents States of Resolution at PAD London 2026, a tightly curated presentation of monumental new works by leading international artists working across Art Furniture, Illuminated Sculpture, collectable design and sculpture.  Located just moments from Berkeley Square, PAD London forms the next chapter in Charles Burnand Gallery’s Autumn 2026 programme, extending the curatorial dialogue established by Under Wraps, the inaugural exhibition at the gallery’s new Mayfair home. Together, the two presentations invite visitors to move between fair and gallery, experiencing a programme that explores not only how exceptional works are first encountered, but how they come to be lived with.  For PAD London, Charles Burnand Gallery presents major new works by Niamh Barry, Peter Lane, David Clarke, Myungtaek Jung, Kyeok Kim, Yanxiong Lin, Ian Milnes, and Jan Waterston. Monumental ceramics, cast bronze, hand-carved timber, illuminated sculpture, and sculptural furniture are brought together within a presentation that reflects the instinctive restraint of the world’s finest collections. Rather than presenting a conventional room setting, the curation offers carefully composed fragments of an interior in which exceptional works are afforded the space, presence, and architectural context they command.  The title, States of Resolution, reflects defining moments within each artist’s practice. Rather than celebrating novelty for its own sake, the presentation brings together works that demonstrate increasing clarity of intention, material understanding, and formal confidence. Some introduce entirely new typologies. Others revisit long-established ideas with greater ambition, scale, and refinement. Together, they represent practices that continue to evolve through sustained enquiry rather than constant reinvention.
