Building New York: How the New Deal Transformed the City In-person (A few seats left) and Online Tuesday, October 13, 2026, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM ET
The 1929 crash brought New York City's Roaring Twenties boom to a sudden halt. In the midst of the Great Depression, three visionaries helped rescue the city. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt launched the New Deal, a groundbreaking series of programs that directed federal funds to bring economic relief across America. Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia and urban planner Robert Moses seized that opportunity and channeled millions of federal dollars into massive projects throughout New York City, producing some of its most iconic Art Deco architecture.
Don't miss this special opportunity to learn what these leaders accomplished and discover the stories of how they transformed New York. This engaging, richly illustrated talk by architectural historian Matthew Postal will be followed by a wine reception. |
