Victor Forbes, and myself have been publishing SunStorm Fine Art magazine in one form or another since October 31, 1975. Fifty years is long enough while to get the hang of it. Publishing, and markets have changed. Artists reflect the stream of conscious in which they live. We continue to capture the essence of the times in which all create spotlighting: painters, artists, musician, actors, photographers, and filmmakers writers bring their artistic efforts to the public eye. Our mission has been helping others. Along the way we have forged many friendships.
Above my dear friend, Native American cousin RuthAnn Thorn invited me to review my history and current efforts on her ~This is Indian Country~ television show. I am an elder in the Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. Our Tribes are located in San Diego adjacent to one another. We taped at my friend and Andrea McCafferty, Gallery co- owner with Kat O’Neil at the White Room Gallery, East Hamptons promoting our cultural perspectives incorporated with in our artistic approaches to business Andrea was incredibly welcoming. Filming in The White Room as the backdrop was the perfect space.
Just thinking about all the people, I met along the way and great privilege I has been for my life’s work to reflect the arts community local, nationally and internationally. The breadth of my experience gave me pause for thought. Victor thinks we were “influencers”. Basically, that’s what RuthAnn thought. Me I think artist are artists and always need a place to tell their stories. I love storytelling. Sun Storm Fine Art will continue to ~keep on Keeping on~
