I am the BackYard Environmentalists in full support of the EPA full ban on DDT. It's my hope no new restriction release on newer pesticides. The Egret seen here is one of many. AUGUST 10, 7PM


Swingtime Big Band is bringing the Swing Era to life at the Long Island Maritime Museum to celebrate America's 250th Birthday!


Performing music from the Great American Songbook in three-dimensional sound, this 20-piece swing band authentically recreates the style, musicality, and essence of each iconic big band that originated from these song hits.


This concert is FREE and welcomes all ages! Bring a chair or a blanket.

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

A Midsummer Night's Dream, a comedy by William Shakespeare, will be performed live and in full costume!


Presented by the Islip Arts Council & Studio Theater of Long Island Shakespeare Troupe


Written by William Shakespeare between 1594 and 1596, this play is set in Athens and consists of several subplots revolving around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue.

Join us for an enchanting evening celebrating art, light, creativity, and the beauty of the ocean.


Under the Sea Light & Art Festival will be held outdoors and will include an artisan night market, glowing art installations, interactive light experiences, live music & more! This family-friendly fun event is FREE!

UNDER THE SEA: IMMERSIVE LIGHT & ART EXHIBITION IN THE GALLERY


The Islip Arts Council invites artists to dive beneath the surface and help transform our gallery into an immersive underwater world filled with art, light, sound, and imagination.

We welcome traditional and contemporary interpretations of the ocean, marine life, fantasy, conservation, and the mystery of the sea.


We are seeking:

Painting • Photography • Mixed Media • Sculpture • Resin • Ceramics • Fiber Art • Installation Art • Immersive Installations

Glow-in-the-Dark & UV Reactive Artwork is Highly Encouraged

Short Films & Digital Media Wanted in mp4 of iMovie format


We are especially interested in:

• Experimental video

• Digital art

• Ocean-inspired visual storytelling


Short films (approximately 1-6 minutes) will be featured in our Digital Ocean Theater throughout the exhibition and festival.
