Basel Art Days at the Museum Tinguely

Week 30 Art Days

The Museum Tinguely is once again part of the Basel Art Days this year. From August 28th to 30th, we invite you to a diverse program of musical and artistic contributions.
A special focus is on Super Saturday on August 29 , when artist lectures, performances and guided tours will open up new ways of accessing the current exhibition Labouring Bodies .

As part of the exhibition Angelica Mesiti. Reverb, we invite you to a workshop with the vegetable cooperative plankton and the NEXUS Collective . Together we will explore the question of what locality means today. In the field – from tending the plants to sharing a meal – we will discover the multifaceted relationships of a place.

Accompanying the exhibition Angelica Mesiti. Reverb , we are offering a workshop in partnership with the vegetable cooperative plankton and the NEXUS Collective. Together, we explore the concept of locality. Through physical experiences in the field – from tending the crops to eating together – we investigate the diverse relationships of a place.

Since 2016, Lua Leirner and Christian Neff have been developing improvised performances together, drawing on their diverse artistic and biographical backgrounds. Through the interplay of gestures, movement, and violin, a unique and distinctive language unfolds.

As part of our Sound Bar series, we invite music enthusiasts to present their music collections and share insights into their musical background and interests. It takes place on the last Thursday of every month, starting at 6 pm, and admission is free. This time, we're featuring Daniela Brugger , artist from the exhibition "Labouring Bodies" .

Marilou Schultz

Since the 1980s, renowned American textile artist Marilou Schultz has expanded traditional Navajo weaving techniques with experimental methods and her own dyeing techniques. The artist became particularly well-known for her designs inspired by computer chips, and her practice combines indigenous knowledge cultures with the history of digital technologies.

Bells – Wool
after Margaret Raspé

The artist Clara Bausch presents her interpretation of the performance Glocken – Wolle (1986) based on the instructions by Margaret Raspé (1933–2023). In her helmet-mounted camera films, installations, poems, and performances, Raspé explored repetitive and automated hand movements, particularly in work associated with women.
