London, 4 November 2026

Sale Total: £4,847,369 / $6,535,223 / €5,809,087

Domenico Raimondo, Phillips’ Head of Department, Design, Europe and Senior International Specialist, said,“We are delighted with the results from our Design sale, which realised £4.8 million, doubling the presale high estimate, reflecting the continued strength of the market for exceptional design. The sale was led by Magdalene Odundo’s ‘Untitled’, which achieved £722,400, more than six times its low estimate and the second highest price for the artist. We were thrilled with the result achieved for Diego Giacometti’s 'Berceau' low table, which sold for £387,000, a remarkable work and importantly the first version of the model. Lucie Rie’s pink Footed bowl also attracted significant competition, achieving £322,500, more than six times its low estimate and reaffirming the enduring appeal of her work and British studio pottery. Further highlights included Jean Royère’s Pair of ‘Persane’ wall lights, which achieved £126,420 against an estimate of £30,000, and Umberto Bellotto’s Unique vase, which more than tripled its low estimate to £122,550, setting a new world auction record for the artist. Gabriella Crespi’s rare ‘Puzzle’ table also performed exceptionally well, selling for nearly six times its low estimate. These results reflect the breadth of collector interest across 20th and 21st century design and the enduring appeal of works of exceptional quality and provenance.”
