Karyn Mannix: 10th ANNUAL BIRDHOUSE AUCTION benefiting Lucia’s Angels

10th ANNUAL BIRDHOUSE AUCTION
benefiting Lucia’s Angels

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y.—The 10th Annual Artist Bird House Auction : Bye Bye Birdie. benefiting the Lucia’s Angels. The auction is scheduled for Saturday, October 18,  5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Southampton Social Club,  located at 256 Elm Street in Southampton (near the train station.)

The birdhouse auction, which has become one of the major fund-raising events of the Lucia’s Angels, began ten ago as the brainstorm of East End artist and breast cancer survivor Karyn Mannix. The auction continues to help women and families in need. After ten years of auctioning birdhouses, it was time for a change. This will be the final birdhouse auction. The  annual event will continue next year with a different theme.

This year, 100 artists  have donated their talents and creativity to help design a one of a kind birdhouse, which will be auctioned off to raise money for the various cancer support programs.

Lucia’s angels was created in loving memory of Lucia Terzi Bagan. Lucia was a very giving person- not only of the material sense but also of herself and her heart. It's no wonder she had so many friends and family surrounding her in her final days. It was Lucia's wish that other women and their families could have that same kind of love and support through their toughest times.
Lucia’s Angels has provided help and funding for: babysitting, heating bills, health insurance premiums, automobile repair, groceries, ambulatory trips, therapeutic massage, salon services and wigs. From special wishes like one more trip to the beach, to providing extra child-care, to the holding of a hand, Lucia's spirit and Angels will be there.

Once again, we will be accepting absentee bids. Visit  http://karynmannixcontemporary.com/gallery/karyn-mannix-contemporary/10th-annual-birdhouse-auction/ to view the birdhouses. By emailing karynmannix@optonline.net,  or phoning 516 318 0000, you can place your maximum absentee bid and volunteers will be on hand at the event to do the bidding for you.

Tickets are $50/$60 at the door, For information or to purchase tickets, please call (631) 726-8715.
