WALLFLOWERS & WILD WOMEN

You can't live with them, you can't live without them

SCHIEDAM – Op zaterdag 20 juni opent Galerie Jabelle de groepstentoonstelling Wallflowers & Wild Women. Zeven kunstenaars tonen ieder op geheel eigen wijze hun visie op kracht, kwetsbaarheid, schoonheid, verlangen en vrijheid.

De tentoonstelling brengt uiteenlopende stijlen, technieken en perspectieven samen in een verrassende dialoog tussen zachtheid en wildheid. Tussen stille muurbloempjes en ontembare wilde vrouwen ontstaat een wereld vol liefde, humor, drama, verleiding en menselijke verhalen.

Met werk van Jacques Tange, Robert van der Kroft, Rob van ’t Hof, Berry van Galen, Henriëtte van Gasteren, Marjon Merckelbach en Nizaac Vallejoonderzoekt de expositie de vele gezichten van vrouwelijkheid en de rol die vrouwen spelen in ons leven, onze herinneringen en onze verbeelding.

De deelnemende kunstenaars benaderen het thema ieder vanuit hun eigen achtergrond en discipline. Van expressieve schilderkunst en persoonlijke verhalen tot maatschappelijke observaties en poëtische verbeelding. Juist de verschillen maken deze tentoonstelling bijzonder: kwetsbaarheid en kracht blijken geen tegenpolen, maar twee kanten van dezelfde menselijke ervaring.

Seven artists take visitors into a world full of love, humor, vulnerability, strength, and imagination. The exhibition brings together an impressive group of makers, including Jacques Tange, who was recently appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau, the internationally acclaimed photographer Henriëtte van Gasteren, the Mexican artist Nizaac Vallejo, and comic legend Robert van der Kroft, known for Sjors & Sjimmie.
