PHILLIPS PRESENTS

VENTE ART MODERNE & CONTEMPORAIN ET DESIGN

Live Auction to Take Place in Paris on 21 October

PARIS – 9 OCTOBER 2026 – Phillips is pleased to present highlights from the Vente Art Moderne & Contemporain et Design, taking place in Paris on 21 October. Comprising 55 lots, the sale marks the second chapter of Phillips’ European autumn Modern & Contemporary Art and Design season and will be held at 94 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris’ 8th arrondissement, just moments from Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais. Led by works from important private collections, including the Collection of Marcel Brient, Paris, the sale brings together a strong selection of Modern and Contemporary works, with a particular focus on Modernism. The preview exhibition from 17 to 21 October will also present works available through Phillips’ Private Sales, alongside highlights from the forthcoming New York Modern & Contemporary Art and Design auctions, Geneva Jewels auction and watches from Phillips Perpetual, creating a cross-category destination for collectors in Paris.

Clara Rivollet, International Specialist, Head of Sale, Modern & Contemporary Art, Paris, said “This October, we are bringing together an exceptional group of works that captures the breadth and vitality of Modern and Contemporary art. From Joan Miró’s Peinture from the Collection of Marcel Brient to important examples by some of the defining artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, the sale is distinguished by the quality, provenance, and individual histories of the works presented. In our 230th anniversary year, it also reflects how Phillips continues to evolve: bringing fresh perspectives to established artists, introducing remarkable works to new audiences, and creating connections across generations of collectors. It is especially fitting to present these highlights in Paris, a city that has played such a central role in the artistic histories represented throughout the sale.”
