Peter Max the defining Pop Artist of the '1960's dies at 88. I am sorry the world has lost an artistic iconic figure.

I met Peter Max at his apartment on Riverside Drive Manhattan around 1984 or 5 . He was already one of the most famous artist of the era pursuing the next go round  of fame in multiple prints and licencing imagery. I was Honored he granted/requested SunStorm Fine Art Magazine, publisher  Jamie Forbes, and Victor Forbes, editor in chief, t o interview him. Forbes and I worked frequently jointly interviewing people for many years. Peter ws Peter! Always flamboyant, gracious, and warm we met many times over the next decade or so. Seeing his friend and publicist Elizabeth Derringer, and manager Gene Lutz, in Max Studios, or at favored restaurant of choice over time. My condolence to Liz, Gean, the family and all who fell they lost a magical kindred spirit through the memorable and loved art.  " Peter Max is one a handful of artist who will be remembered 100 like the impression that he loved" was my quote when Peter's name came up in business or other conversations knowing I was honored to know him.  May Peter's  Memory be a blessing.
