How did the signs and symbols of indigenous people’s art inspire Jackson Pollock? Joyce will guide a discussion with W. Jackson Rushing III, author of Native American Art and the New York Avant-Garde. Then live on Zoom Joyce will tour the barn studio where Pollock created his groundbreaking poured paintings.

Tour and Art Workshop
Wednesday, November 17, 2:00- 3:15 pm
How can our dreams, unconscious mind, and imagination be expressed in art? This live Zoom tour and workshop explores the tenets of Surrealist art and its impact on Pollock and Krasner. Following the tour and presentation, participants will be guided in Surrealist writing and art activities designed to access the unconscious mind. Have a pencil and paper on hand.

Joyce guides children , teens, or adult groups through Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner's home and studio -- a national landmark in East Hampton. Discover creative ways Pollock and Krasner expressed their feelings with paint. Discuss the art displayed in their home, and explore the barn studio filled with paint splatters -- evidence of their masterpieces. Children and teen programs - work alongside Joyce as she demonstrates drip painting. 

>100% interactive and geared to children, teenagers, or adults.
>Schools and libraries can choose for students to paint, or learn by observing Joyce drip painting in Pollock’s studio!
>Virtual trips are 45 minutes - 1 hour depending on your schedule.
>Scheduled all year on a first come first served basis.
