Celebrate Indigenous People's Art with Guest Speaker W. Jackson Rushing III

How did the signs and symbols of indigenous people’s art inspire Jackson Pollock? Joyce will guide a discussion with W. Jackson Rushing III, author of Native American Art and the New York Avant-Garde. Then live on Zoom Joyce will tour the barn studio where Pollock created his groundbreaking poured paintings.

Tour and Art Workshop

How can our dreams, unconscious mind, and imagination be expressed in art? This live Zoom tour and workshop explores the tenets of Surrealist art and its impact on Pollock and Krasner. Following the tour and presentation, participants will be guided in Surrealist writing and art activities designed to access the unconscious mind. Have a pencil and paper on hand.
