THE SEVENTH AIM BIENNIAL CULMINATING OPEN HOUSE Sat, Aug 29 • 1–5PM • For All Ages • Free • Optional RSVP, Drop-Ins Welcome AIM artists exhibiting in The Seventh AIM Biennial: Forms of Connection leading a screen-printing workshop. Photo by Argenis Apolinario, 2026. This Saturday, August 29th, you’re invited to the Museum for a Family Day and Culminating Open House for The Seventh AIM Biennial: Forms of Connection! The critically acclaimed exhibition, which was extended through September 6th due to popular demand, features work by artists who completed the 2024 and 2025 cycles of The Bronx Museum’s prestigious AIM Fellowship program. For the Open House, exhibiting artists are leading a variety of fun activities—feel free to participate in all of them, or drop in for one in particular. In this workshop, 2025 AIM Fellow kiarita will guide participants in adorning a wooden box in a way that describes a special memory. This dialogue with artists Skip Brea, Ricki Dwyer, Bryan Fernandez, and Erick Alejandro Hernandez will center around the concept of fugitivity and the way in which personal actions can subvert one’s subjecthood into an act of resistance. Art critic and author Lou Bury will moderate a conversation with artists Katie Chin, Erick Alejandro Hernandez, and Cyle Warner about a range of topics, including material as a vehicle for conceptual inquiry and the role of social histories in object-making.
