JOIN NOW Friend, Today is the first day of October, which means we’ve begun our countdown to Indigenous Peoples’ Day! In less than two weeks, the National Museum of the American Indian, along with states, cities, and communities across the country will come together to commemorate this special day. But you don’t have to wait. We’ve set a special goal in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Friend! You can become a member today and help us raise $15,000 to support the museum’s work—amplifying Indigenous history, cultures, and perspectives every day. Now through October 12, every gift will bring us closer to this important goal and help us educate, engage, and inspire even more people. JOIN NOW For more than 22 years, the museum has partnered with Native communities to center Native voices, showcase Indigenous art and artists, and challenge stereotypes to create a fuller… and deeper understanding of Native peoples and cultures. Today, we offer programs for visitors of every age. From programs for early learners in the imagiNATIONS Activity Center, to events that bring people together in person and online, like our Quilt Along (June 1–October 17, 2026), to innovative, world-class exhibitions that inspire visitors from all backgrounds, everyone is welcome. Your gift in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a meaningful way to support Indigenous voices, histories, cultures, and perspectives. It’s an investment in the museum’s work and its future. Please, consider starting your celebration of Indigenous People’s Day early with a gift today. By helping us raise $15,000 by midnight on October 12, you’ll foster a more informed and representative understanding of Native peoples. This work is only possible because of your generosity. Thank you! National Museum of the American Indian P.S. We have an ambitious goal: raise $15,000 before midnight on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, October 12! Will you join as a member today and help us reach it? P.P.S. DAF Day is also coming up on October 8! National Museum of the Native American membership drive

http://nmai.si.edu/

We’re entering the final week of Membership Month and we’re still 58 Members away from reaching our 100 new member Membership Month goal.

That leaves us just one week to make up the difference.

Join now to help us reach the finish line.

We’re living in a time when what most people know about Indians is incomplete or entirely false.  Even “well known” events in Native American history like the first Thanksgiving and the story of Pocahontas are largely misunderstood.

The Museum exists to fill in the gaps, stand up to longstanding stereotypes, and showcase the contributions Native cultures have made to American history and contemporary life.

But we depend on Member support to make it possible, which is why meeting our Membership Month goal is so important.

Join to help us succeed in gaining 100 new Members before the end of the month.

P.S.  Hurry!  March 31 will be here before you know it. Join now!
