On WED., JULY 29, I'll offer a free ekphrastic poetry writing workshop. What stories do you see? How can engaging with visual art help your poems take shape? You will use the exhibition artwork as writing prompts as I guide you through the process of crafting and revising ekphrastic poems (poems that respond to visual art). At the end of the workshop, you'll take home additional prompts on my complimentary art prints. RSVP for the workshop here.
And to close out the exhibition, I'll moderate an exciting conversation with two of my favorite artists who I've exhibited works with in past art exhibitions. Aleathea Sapp Jimenez just wrapped her solo exhibition in Brooklyn and her work will be featured on a digital billboard in Times Square later this month. Watson Mere's work has appeared at Barclay's Center, Gracie Mansion, Venice Art Gallery, and many other venues. And he just played the starring role of ŞÀNGÓ in the off-Broadway production of the same name. I'm honored to have the chance to be in conversation with these two dynamic artists and I hope you join us. RSVP for the artist panel discussion here. |
