Andy Warhol,
Blue Jackie, 1964
Please join us to celebrate Waterhouse & Dodd's 25th anniversary and view our inaugural exhibition on Madison Avenue: 'Post-War & Contemporary Art in America'. On exhibit will be important paintings, sculpture and works on paper from the 1960s to the present by leading American artists, including Alexander Calder, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Allan D'Arcangelo, Jim Dine, Robert Indiana, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann.

The highlight of the show is one of Andy Warhol's most notable portraits, 'Blue Jackie' executed in 1964 at the height of his most celebrated period. This painting belongs to the iconic 'Jackie' silkscreen series and combines Warhol's ground-breaking 'Death and Disaster series' with his contemporaneous fascination with celebrity culture. 'Blue Jackie' is a stellar representation of Warhol's significant and unparalleled contribution to the visual arts.

Curated by Heidi Lee

The exhibition will be on view until Oct 13, 2012
