Small Works NYC at Jeffrey Leder Gallery

Cattle Ranch, acrylic on canvas, 12" x 12"
Please join me for Small Works NYC, a Juried Exhibition. The reception is on Sunday, September 23rd, 5-7pm. The show runs Sept 23 until Nov 3. More information and gallery hours are available at Jeffrey Leder Gallery, 2137 45th Rd. Long Island City, NY 11101.
I have 3 paintings in the show: Cattle Ranch, Florence Rooftops and Highway Overpass.
These paintings show the world we live in from an aerial perspective; by eliminating the details they make the landscape more graphic than representational.

Philadelphia Utility Plant, oil on canvas, 36" x 60"

Philadelphia Utility Plant
is a Showcase Winner in ArtSlant New York 5th 2012 juried competition. ArtSlant is a worldwide art network site with with calendars for openings, exhibitions and information.
Philadelphia Utility Plant
focuses on the linear graphics of the windows, smoke stacks and roof mechanics of the plant as seen from above. The subdued color palette pulls the composition together. I attempted to capture the moment and let the image tell the story.
You can see more of my aerial paintings at tonisart.com

Church Tower Road, oil on canvas, 36" x 36"

Upstream Gallery
Church Tower Road along with 4 other of my paintings is in the “14th Annual Landscape Juried International Art Exhibition”. The additional paintings are Canyon Gate, Edison Industrial, Philadelphia Utility Plant and Prague City.
A unique vantage point from on high captures a square in Austria using vibrant colors typical of this part of Eastern Europe. I extracted the graphic essence to complete the picture.
