Join us for the Lobster Run 5K on Saturday, April 29
Since the Lobster Run began in 2015, the work of the Littoral Society has grown exponentially. We're cleaning up more beaches, restoring more shoreline, bringing more children to the coast, and working harder than ever to ensure lawmakers protect recreational fishing, access to beaches, and horseshoe crabs.
Proceeds from the Lobster Run help us build oyster reefs in the Delaware Bay, run educational programs on Sandy Hook, and do wildlife excursions around Jamaica Bay. The course for the race carries participants past sites where, with volunteer help, we've planted dune grass and restored a maritime forest.
We need your help to continue protecting and restoring the splendor of these places. Your participation in the Lobster Run will also help us bring more people onto the sand and into the water so they can gain a deeper understanding of how nature works on our beaches and in our bays.
In addition to a beautiful location on the Asbury Park boardwalk, a fabulous buffet brunch provided by The Break (formerly known as Langosta Lounge), and beer from Ross Brewing, we've got an after-party that will feature music from a band fronted by Ryan Gregg of The Shady Street Showband and Deseree Spinks of Des and the Swagmatics.
You can register to run/walk with or without the buffer brunch, or join us just for the party. Use the Extra button to add a lobster salad roll to your brunch (available only for registration types that include the meal).
The course is suitable for all ages. Parking will be available in a lot across the street from The Break (1000 Ocean Avenue) and along the streets of Asbury Park. The event is rain or shine, registration is not refundable. T-shirts will be included for race/walk participants only and are guaranteed for those who sign up before April 15.
