CALL TO ARTISTS What: 55th Annual An Occasion for the Arts Where: Merchants Square, in the center of Colonial Williamsburg, VA When: October 6-8, 2023 | Friday 5-7pm | Sat - Sun 10am-5pm

NOTEWORTHY: Limited to 145 Artists Past Attendance 30,00-35,000 NEW - Friday Preview Evening and Party Friday set-up and Sunday tear-down drive adjacent to booth Every Booth is a Corner Reserved artist-only parking (includes RV & oversize vehicles) Booth sitters Free bottled water and lunch delivery Award Winning Show - 2022 Best of Virginia Fine Art Festival 24 hour security using local police Full color printed program delivered to 45,500 households prior to event Awards Reception Saturday Eve $5,000 in awards; winners jury-exempt the next year Jury Fee $35 Booth Fee: 10'x10' $475 | 10'x20' $950 New this year, a Preview Party on Friday night from 5pm-7pm. We invite artists to showcase their work to our patrons and VIP's. Artists who are open for the evening will be given early setup times and discounted tickets to attend the party from 7pm to 9pm. This is a fundraiser for the AOFTA Artists in Residence program with the James County public school system. Artists will be treated to wonderful food, beverages and live music. Your application and acceptance to the show are not based on your ability to be open on Friday evening but your location may be affected. Jurors do not know if you have chosen to participate.

For more than 50 years An Occasion For The Arts has brought fabulous art to historic downtown Williamsburg, VA on the 1st weekend of October. Williamsburg is the home of the College of William & Mary with an affluent alumni base residing in the area. It is a growing midsize community with a population of 158,294. It is also a top tourism and retirement destination for people from all over the world.    Our ambition is to be the best show possible for those exhibiting with us, and our commitment is to balance the show so it showcases artists' work as unique and provides the potential for sales. We are dedicated to maintaining high standards and work diligently to foster a positive environment for artists and patrons.
