At midnight on 31 December, the sculpture network team will not only be celebrating the New Year, but we will also be looking forward to the successful launch of our new website. ...met this year at our Online Clubs, where we exchanged ideas beyond national borders about three-dimensional art. We learned how to place installations, weighing tons, on hiking trails in the Dolomites and discussed how sculpture can support commemoration. The topic of melting iron and fire art was a hot one. Julia Weiss told us more about this inspiring Online Club in her article.
...made it possible to finally meet fellow artists and friends again – what a delight! At this year's national and international Dialogues we walked through sculpture gardens, met artists in their studios and took a look behind the scenes of a bronze foundry. A special highlight: the International Dialogue in Wuppertal, which Gabriele Maria Friederichs has written about.
At last the time has come again! For the 15th International Forum we will meet in Malaga5-7 October 2023. We will take three days to address the greatest challenge facing the international community: the climate emergency. How can three-dimensional art contribute to stopping climate change? How do museums, artists and institutions react when sustainability is not only an option but a must? We look forward to having exciting discussions and obtaining valuable insights with you!
