Creative Collage; Matisse, Krasner, and Pollock
Discover the innovative collages of three modern masters - Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, and Henri Matisse. Then tour the studio where Pollock and Krasner made abstract expressionist paintings and collages. While Pollock is best known for his drip painting technique, this program will present his experimental abstract collages. Also presented will be Krasner’s monumental collages made by ripping, cutting, and gluing pieces of her former artworks to create new compositions as well as the cut-outs of Matisse who was an inspiration for Krasner. Joyce Raimondo will then demonstrate collage techniques.
Have supplies on hand for your project; scissors, glue, surface for your art such as paper or canvas, materials to paste to your project such as colored papers and other materials. Optional paint or drawing. Offered by Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center Click here to view video
