CALL FOR ART! PERMANENT EXPRESSION: GRAFFITI, TATTOO, AND THE EXTRAORDINARY
Exhibition Period: October 1 -31 Entry Deadline: September 22nd
The Islip Arts Council is curating a special exhibition presenting the bold, expressive worlds of graffiti, tattoo art, and all things extraordinary. This exhibition invites artists to explore the creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural impact of these dynamic art forms, showcasing work inspired by street art, urban aesthetics, tattoo design, contemporary body art as well as art out of the social norms.
From intricate tattoo flash and illustrative designs to vibrant graffiti lettering, murals, and street-inspired compositions, we are seeking artwork that reflects the energy, individuality, and storytelling found within these artistic traditions. This exhibition celebrates art as a form of personal expression and visual identity, highlighting both the rebellious spirit of the streets and the skilled artistry that transforms ideas that are beyond average into lasting images. Submissions may range from traditional and realistic styles to abstract and experimental.
