Today, Wednesday, April 22, 2020 marks 50 years of Earth Day. The first Earth Day in 1970 sparked the passage in the U.S. of the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts, and the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency. The urgency has never been greater. Our world needs a united response for bold action. Will you join this global movement as we build toward the next half century of action for our planet?
THE PLAN:
Today, April 22, join the Earth Day Network for 24 Hours of Action on EarthDay.org as they issue a new call to action every hour for 24 hours. Through 24 Hours of Action, Earth Day 2020 will drive actions big and small, give diverse voices a platform and demand bold action for people and the planet.
From April 22nd to April 24th Earth Day Network will fill the digital landscape with global conversations, calls to action, performances, video teach-ins and more. Tune into Earth Day Live as millions of people around the world go online for a three-day mobilization to stop the climate emergency. While Earth Day may be going digital, the goal remains the same: to mobilize the world to take the most meaningful actions possible to change the world. No matter who or where you are, you can make a difference.

If so much dire news is overwhelming, why not sit outside and make some promises to a favorite place? It is easy, it is free, it is highly effective. Make a real commitment, make a real difference, feel great doing it, feel great about it. Think of it like getting married, no cheating. Why would you?
