Special Olympics NY Hosts 2026 Long Island Spring Games At Multiple Venues Within Massapequa School District

Nearly 750 Athletes and 400 Coaches Registered to Attend Long Island’s Largest Annual Competition

Massapequa, NY – Athletes from Long Island and New York City are gearing up for a thrilling day of competition at the 2026 Long Island Spring Games, Long Island’s largest Special Olympics competition each year. Details on the event are as follows:

  • When: Saturday, May 2, 2026. The parade line up begins at 9:00 AM, Opening Ceremonies start at 9:30 AM, with Competition beginning at 10:30 AM.
  • Where: Berner Middle School – Opening Ceremonies, Olympic Village, Healthy Athletes, Track and Field, Powerlifting
    • 50 Carman Mill Rd, Massapequa, NY 11758
  • Farmingdale School District Aquatic Center - Swimming
    • 522 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735
  • Marjorie Post Park - Tennis
    • 451 Unqua Rd, Massapequa Park, NY 11762
  • Who: Nearly 750 registered athletes, 400 registered coaches, 60 teams, and thousands of spectators and volunteers
  • What: Competition in track and field, swimming, powerlifting, and tennis

Like all Special Olympics NY competitions, the Long Island Spring Games is free and open to the public. Members of the media are cordially invited to attend.
