NEW YORK – 13 OCTOBER – Phillips is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Massad as Senior International Specialist. Based in New York, Andrew has become a central figure in the market during the three decades he spent at Christie’s, as well as his recent time as an art advisor and private dealer at Massad Fine Art.

In his twenty-nine years as a leading rainmaker at Christie’s, Andy facilitated the sale of works from countless private collections, including the Estate of Emily and Jerry Spiegel, Phil Schrager, and Anita Reiner, along with many other works from collections of distinction. He was also responsible for such favorite past sales as Roy Lichtenstein's Red and White Brushstrokes, 1965, and Peter Doig's Reflection-What Does Your Soul Look Like, 1996 as well as Njideka Akunyili Crosby's I Refuse to be Invisible, 2010, and David Wojnarowicz's Science Lesson, 1982-83.

 

On the heels of a record-breaking year, Phillips hosted its most successful auction in company history this past May.
