Steven Zevitas Gallery is pleased to present New New England, a group exhibition featuring nine new paintings made by five exceptional artists working within New England. The exhibition will be on view from December 22, 2023 to January 27, 2024.

Each painting in New New England features a central figure, but the subjects’ environments, facture, and histories differ radically. Collectively, they demonstrate the breadth of psychic states the human figure can conjure in painting. Papay Solomon examines the divide between heritage and adopted culture; Ji Zou explores NSFW content and digital identity; Hannah Rust opens the door to magical thinking in a time of climate catastrophe; Isabelle Higgins dwells on the comfort of seeing a friendly face after a long day; and Sandrea Lovelock Williams invites us to join a celebration of life for a loved-one lost.
