Art Basel is very happy to announce the launch of season two of Intersections: The Art Basel Podcast, presented by UBS. Intersectionsbrings together leading artists, architects, gallerists, designers, musicians, and art collectors to dive deep into their passion for art. The first two episodes are now available.
In the first episode, rapper, songwriter, and record producer RM (Kim Nam-joon) —Leader of K-Pop superstars BTS —joins Marc Spiegler to talk about everything from the formation and rise of BTS, to the first artwork he ever bought, his plans to establish a collection space and thoughts on trying to establish a legacy while being a boy band star. Collecting, he says, ‘really gives me the standard to live as a better man, as a better adult, and [as] an artist.’ Just after we recorded the podcast, BTS announced that the group’s members will be focusing on solo projects. This development casts Nam-joon’s highly reflective comments on his personal legacy and projects in a different light. |
