The 9th annual Athena Film Festival kicks off this week. With dozens of narrative features, documentaries, and shorts, panel conversations and Q&A's with filmmakers and talent/subjects from the films, FREE SCREENINGS, virtual reality, and more — this is a weekend you will not want to miss.

OSCAR WINNERS AT ATHENA
Shorts Program III - Spotlight on STEM, will include Academy award-winning short film Period. End of Sentence.The film focuses on Indian women who fight the stigma surrounding menstruation and begin manufacturing sanitary pads.
Everyone's favorite Olivia Colman took home the Oscar for Best Actress in a Film for The Favourite. See the film, this Friday, March 1 at 9:30 PM at Athena.
Tickets are also still available for Oscar nominees, Can You Ever Forgive Me? and Mary Queen of Scots, playing on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Get your tickets today!
TICKETS FOR OPENING NIGHT STILL AVAILABLE
The 2019 Athena Film Festival opens on Thursday, with the New York Premiere of Fast Color! Following the film there will be a Q&A with director/writer Julia Hart and star Lorraine Toussaint.
The ticket for opening night will also get you into the Opening Night Party.
