International Human Rights Art Festival New York City's first Arts-Advocacy festival NYC-Arts Top Five Picks: February 27 – March 5 "The range of artistic expression is as wide and expansive as the central issue of the festival itself. To that end, Tom Block has curated the pieces with an eye toward not only the talents and level of craft of those involved, but also their “incredible passion and sincerity.” -- Brooklyn Rail The International Human Rights Art Festival will bring together more than 150 artists producing more than 50 events, all of them oriented toward advocacy.  Artistic media will include theatre, performance, dance, spoken word, painting, photography, music, literary arts, workshops, panel discussions, a kidsfest, film and others. It will raise social, cultural and political issues, as well as offering gentle, positive responses through thoughtful beauty and political and social thinking.
