PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida -- The award-winning ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival presented by Tampa General Hospital is now accepting applications from artists for its 42nd annual festival, scheduled for February 6-7, 2027, in Palm Beach Gardens. For the first time in decades, the festival will move from its traditional Presidents Day weekend dates to the week before.

Artists interested in exhibiting at one of the nation's premier juried fine arts festivals are encouraged to apply through ZAPP at zapplication.org. Artists may submit work for jury consideration in 12 fine art categories: Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing & Printmaking, Fiber (Wearable and Non-Wearable), Glass, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Wood.

ArtiGras awards more than $15,000 in prize money, including first-place awards in each category and the festival's prestigious Best of Show honor.

The festival also continues its Emerging Artist Program, designed to support and showcase promising South Florida artists who have never exhibited in a professional art festival. Selected participants receive mentorship, professional booth photography and complimentary tent rental. Emerging artists should apply through the same online process as professional artists at zapplication.org.

Recognized as one of the nation's top fine art festivals, ArtiGras attracts tens of thousands of collectors, art enthusiasts and families each year. Produced by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, the two-day outdoor event features more than 250 juried artists exhibiting gallery-quality artwork while providing visitors the opportunity to meet artists and purchase original pieces directly from them.

The application deadline is Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Artists seeking additional information may email artists@artigras.org, call (561) 748-3942, or visit www.artigras.org.

In addition to exceptional fine art, the 42nd annual festival will feature interactive art experiences, live entertainment, children's activities, food vendors, art demonstrations and the popular youth art competition.

NEW ACQUISITIONS

MJFA is thrilled to present two notable works by the premier landscape artistsJohn Beerman and Joseph McGurl.  Newly acquired from a distinguished private collection, these paintings highlight each artist's unique vision of the American landscape.

JOHN BEERMAN: 'Eastern Sky' 2001. oil on canvas, 30 x 40 in. / Frame: 35.5 x 45.5 in.

John Beerman (b. 1958) has spent more than 35 years creating luminous landscapes that celebrate the beauty and quiet power of the American landscape. Drawing inspiration from the Hudson River School and the Luminists, his paintings are distinguished by their masterful use of light, color, and atmosphere, transforming familiar scenes into timeless meditations on place.

A North Carolina native, Beerman's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. He attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Beerman has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Pollack-Krasner Foundation Award and the Yaddo Artist Colony Fellowship. His work included in the collections of numerous museums including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.

JOSEPH MCGURL:'Within Everglades-Sunset' c.1990-2008 Oil on linen,18 x 24 in. / Frame: 26 x 32 in.

Joseph McGurl (b. 1958) is extensively regarded as one of America's leading landscape painters. Designated a 'Living Master' by the Art Renewal Center, his work is often likened to the great 19th century luminist painters, but with a modern sensibility to style and subject. Informed by his muralist father and time as a sailor, his work captures marine and landscape scenes across the eastern coast. He depicts these landscapes en plein air which allows him to deeply understand both subject and elements of light, form, space, and color while on site.

McGurl's paintings have been included in several museum exhibitions across the United States. He has had retrospective solo shows at the Cape Museum of Fine Arts, The Cahoon Museum of American Art, and the Saint Botolph Club of Boston. McGurl is an elected member of the Guild of Boston Artists and is a Copley Master with the Copley Society of Boston, and has received multiple accolades including the John Singleton Copley Award for Artistic Achievement.
