Dreeland M. Dreeland introduces a pop art style that mixes basic acrylics and techniques from the old masters, with hi-tech tools of the present and future. Modern technology, with the use of graphic design programs, has allowed M. Dreeland to spotlight a unique step and repeat style by using multiple layers and common objects. Thick paint and bold colors characterizes M. Dreeland's work. American Heart Association entitled "Pop Heart" was donated for their charity ball auction at the 2008 gala at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. M. With MARCOART, his first retail store / studio / boutique in the Lower East Side, Marco quickly established a base of operations from 1993 to 2005. His entrepreneurial spirit attracted the attention of a local real estate agent and the newly formed Lower East Side Business Improvement District who invited Marco to join as a commercial member. He re-located his retail operation and was soon approached by Swatch Watch to design what later became the best-selling Artist Swatch of all time. Unicef also commissioned Marco to create a series of products including coffee cups, giant floor puzzles, and placemats which it sold in through it’s catalogs with all the proceeds going to fight poverty in the Third World. As ambassador to the Lower East Side, Marco presented electronic music legend Moby with an original acrylic on canvas tribute painting in his then newly opened downtown hotspot Teany. He sold iconoclastic Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar special limited edition hand-pulled silkscreen prints at his studio/boutique. Sid Maurer No other artist, living or dead, has done or is capable of doing what Sid Maurer does to achieve the desired results. He starts with a simple black-and-white image, which he enlarges, and a piece of plywood. He gessos the piece of wood, then takes exacting measurements of both the wood and the image so they are one and the same. He then glues the photographic paper onto the wood in such a way that it is fully and permanently affixed. It is bonded to the wood and will remain there for many, many lifetimes. He then bombards the image with mixed media -- crayon, acrylics, watercolor dyes, varnish -- anything that moves him in the artistic process to yield a rendering that does justice to the subject. The result is a unique blend of a painter's passion, tempered with the compositional eye of a great graphic designer. Any contemporary artist who endeavored to duplicate Mr. Maurer's method would be lost without Sid's early experience as a graphic designer. Delgadillo RAD is the Artist of Celebrities known for popular fashion depicted illustrations. He is a fan of beauty, fame and unbridled passion for HOLLYWOOD. Each artwork is made to capture the essence, humor and appeal of the celebrity. Hollywood spirits were poured out from the wells of pens and brushes and onto the fertile plains of media for the enjoyment for all ages. Additionally, RAD’s work has been acknowledged and published locally, nationally and internationally. His original works of art by famed artist Robert A. Anthony Williams Anthony Williams, Pop Artist known for his exhibitions of Original paintings and limited edition graphics "PopDot Collection" celebrates the 85th anniversary of Bb "Save the Cats" commissioned by Brigitte Bardot International of NYC. Also his artistry as "The Comic Stripper" has been creating cutting edge cartoon, comics and comic-book illustration for two decades. He was known as one of Hollywood's best fight arrangers and intriguing stars during the 1930s and 1940s. He was famous for his boundless energy and devil-may-care attitude. Errol Flynn lived a life that far surpassed any adventure he ever filmed! Museum Masters International will celebrate Errol Flynn with the release of a new men's fragrance, men's clothing line, wines and spirits prior to the opening of the long-awaited exhibition. His daughter Rory Flynn and grandson Sean Flynn will be available for book and print signings at the exhibition opening. Susan Sarandon co-stars in 'Last of RobinHood' Errol Flynn is back! Oscar winner Kevin Kline is attached to play screen legend Errol Flynn in "The Last of Robin Hood," an indie pic set up at Killer Films that "Quinceanera" helmers Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland will direct from their own original screenplay. Pic, which is based on Flynn's last days before he died of a heart attack at age 50, follows his relationship with 17 year-old Beverly Aadland, an actress who was allegedly seduced by Flynn when she was only 15 years-old and eventually grew to love the "Adventures of Robin Hood" star. She also co-starred in Flynn's last film "Cuban Rebel Girls." "The Last of Robin Hood," which features a juicy role for a young actress, is skedded to start production in January. Kline recently starred in Robert Redford's period pic "The Conspirator" and Lawrence Kasdan's drama "Darling Companion." MCA Stage: Martin Creed's Unconventional Ballet

MARTIN CREED WORK NO. 1020 (BALLET)  November 15-16, 2012

Martin Creed, the British multimedia artist, creates an unconventional ballet featuring his rock band and five dancers.  Work No. 1020 (Ballet) is a mix of talk, film, song, and movement built upon the five body positions of classical ballet and the notes of the musical scale. It is presented in conjunction with Martin Creed Plays Chicago, the year-long 2012 MCA artist-in-residence project in which he creates visual and performance art work in non-gallery settings in the museum throughout the year, including the massiveMOTHERS sculpture on the plaza. The performances are presented in the Edlis Neeson Theater on Thursday and Friday, November 15-16, 2012 as part of the MCA Stage's Global Stage series. In Work No. 1020, Creed creates a framework in which audiences experience subtle changes of time, speed, and direction. The choreography is methodical and geometric, comprised of the building blocks of classical ballet -- five basic positions of the feet that are the foundation of every other step. The work is performed by five classically trained dancers from London, and is co-created with Lorena Randi, a dancer/choreographer associated with Sadler's Wells Theatre in London who commissioned the original presentation of the ballet in 2009. Creed creates a parallel set of musical building blocks with the notes of the scale. Between sections of the dance, Creed and his band play songs with humorous and pessimistic lyrics such as, "What's the point of it?" or "Pass your bad feelings on." The music compositions correspond with the minimal choreography. Film clips show Creed getting dogs to cross a white space in different directions and a man kicking a plant, along with more mature content such as vomit and an erection. He introduces and explains the songs with his distinctive hesitant and reflective speaking pattern. Labeled a conceptualist and provocateur, Creed is creating new works every month to appear in non-gallery spaces in and around the museum, as well as on the MCA Plaza, and out in the city. As the MCA turns the museum over to Creed for the year, his residency illustrates the MCA's vision of an "artist-activated, audience-engaged" museum. Creed (b. 1968) is one of the UK's leading artists and winner of the 2001 Turner Prize. He recently organized the project Work No. 1197: All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes for July 27, 2012, as part of the UK government's Cultural Olympiad that accompanies the London 2012 Olympic Games. Abstract Impressionist Susan Marx's devotion to startling jubilant color is contagious.  She is in love with color and with paint. 

Inspired by the French masters, Monet, Van Gogh and Abstract Expressionist Joan Mitchell,  Marx invigorates her canvases with colorful dynamic brushstrokes.  She approaches painting with the thoughtful spontaneity of an Impressionist.  Pastoral scenes are alive with spirited energy.  Marx's effervescent use of light pierces through her canvasses, stunning us into sensual appreciation of our natural world. 

Ardently devoted to painting en plein air, out of doors, Marx's dedication to nature is lithe with personal emotions.  Sensuous shapes tempered with vigorous color, breathe life into Marx's personal, dynamic compositions.  "Color, the use of warm and cool colors and their combinations are of extreme importance, as are my expressive brushstrokes, my personal handwriting," explains Marx.  "My painting is a result of my radical amazement at the visual world and my need to turn that visual experience into paint.  Nature is my starting point, but not my end result.  I try to capture the essence of a scene.  Its emotions and color.  And leave the rest to the viewer's imagination to bring him itso the painting."

Susan Marx is represented by and exhibits at the A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery, 24 West 57th Street,  the Agora Gallery, 520 West 25th Street and the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, 531 West 25th Street in New York City.  She has also exhibited at the Fox Gallery, the Keane Mason Gallery and The Emerging Collector in New York and in New Jersey at the Robin Hutchins Gallery, the Korby Gallery, the Hait Gallery, Nitsa Fine Arts, the Marino Gallery, The Art Gallery of South Orange, The Gaelen Gallery East, The Tenth Muse, and The Right Angle.  She exhibited in Paris at the Musée des Duncan.  In Israel, she showed her work at the Museum of Printing Art in Safed and at the Artist's House in Jerusalem.

Marx's paintings are is in private collections in the United States and abroad. She lives in Orange, NJ and volunteers at the Montclair Art Museum and the Newark Museum.

The fair, sponsored by Talbot Street Art Fair, Inc. a non-profit organization, is held along Talbott Street between 16th and 20th Streets (North-South) and between Pennsylvania and Delaware Streets (East-West) in the historic Herron-Morton neighborhood on the near-northside of Indianapolis.

  

Talbot Street Art Fair is the oldest, juried show in Central Indiana and remains free to the public.

All of the fair's focus is on the artists.  We do not have commercial booths or performing musicians.  The fair has a dedicated following of patrons who show up rain or shine.  We do extensive local and regional advertising that includes billboards, newspapers, magazines, online ads and radio and television interviews.  Our purpose is an organized fair that runs smoothly and brings buying customers to our artists for successful sales.

WHAT:   British photographer Martin Parr is internationally known for his innovative imagery, his oblique approach to social documentary, and his input to photographic culture within the UK and abroad.

Parr says of his work, “With photography, I like to create fiction out of reality. I try and do this by taking society’s natural prejudice and giving this a twist.”

In recent years, Parr has developed an interest in filmmaking, and has started to use his photography within different conventions, such as fashion and advertising.  In 2002 the Barbican Art Gallery and the National Media Museum in England initiated a retrospective of Martin Parr’s work, which toured Europe for five years.  He is a visiting professor at the University of Wales, Newport campus, and he is a full member of Magnum Photographic Corporation.
