 My Opinion: Collectable design objects! they add contemporary currency to the atmosphere of living space. I see them as art collectibles like signed and numbered prints. some will grow in value. others not!

Following the opening of its new permanent Mayfair gallery, Charles Burnand Gallery presents States of Resolution at PAD London 2026, a tightly curated presentation of monumental new works by leading international artists working across Art Furniture, Illuminated Sculpture, collectable design and sculpture.  Located just moments from Berkeley Square, PAD London forms the next chapter in Charles Burnand Gallery’s Autumn 2026 programme, extending the curatorial dialogue established by Under Wraps, the inaugural exhibition at the gallery’s new Mayfair home. Together, the two presentations invite visitors to move between fair and gallery, experiencing a programme that explores not only how exceptional works are first encountered, but how they come to be lived with.  For PAD London, Charles Burnand Gallery presents major new works by Niamh Barry, Peter Lane, David Clarke, Myungtaek Jung, Kyeok Kim, Yanxiong Lin, Ian Milnes, and Jan Waterston. Monumental ceramics, cast bronze, hand-carved timber, illuminated sculpture, and sculptural furniture are brought together within a presentation that reflects the instinctive restraint of the world’s finest collections. Rather than presenting a conventional room setting, the curation offers carefully composed fragments of an interior in which exceptional works are afforded the space, presence, and architectural context they command.  The title, States of Resolution, reflects defining moments within each artist’s practice. Rather than celebrating novelty for its own sake, the presentation brings together works that demonstrate increasing clarity of intention, material understanding, and formal confidence. Some introduce entirely new typologies. Others revisit long-established ideas with greater ambition, scale, and refinement. Together, they represent practices that continue to evolve through sustained enquiry rather than constant reinvention.

States of Resolution builds directly upon Under Wraps. While the inaugural exhibition at Charles Burnand Gallery’s new Mayfair gallery explores the first public encounter between artist, artwork, and audience, the PAD presentation considers the environment in which exceptional works continue that journey. The WoodsWoman Method functions as both an exhibition and laboratory, bringing together Woolfalk’s process materials from the project with works from the Museum’s permanent collection. A fun look back in time~Sag Harbor 100 Years ago Sept. 5-12, 1926!

SAG HARBOR 100 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK September 6 – September 12, 1926

George Sterling, native of Sag Harbor, and world-renowned poet, was gaining high praise for his latest poetic drama, "Lilith." Theodore Dreiser ranked Mr. Sterling with Euripides, Aeschylus, Shakespeare, and Shelley. A Metropolitan reviewer also stated, "in truth 'Lilith' is nobly conceived and executed, for the most part with rare poetic ingenuity. Not to read it will be to miss quite the finest thing in poetic drama yet done in America and one of the finest poetic dramas yet written in English." Eight pieces of jewelry valued at $23,000, stolen by a sneak thief from the James T. Lee cottage at East Hampton on July 23, were recovered from proprietors of a New York jewelry store, where detectives and police seized what they claimed to be $100,000 worth of stolen jewelry. Henry H. Rogers, the oil magnate, who had recently bought all of Cow Neck, was reportedly negotiating to purchase North Sea bathing pavilion. Following the close of the Joseph Fahys & Co. Twilight Baseball League season, the Terrors celebrated their victory as champions of the league by attending a spaghetti supper at the home of Paul Ranalli, the hard-hitting right fielder. If gossip can be depended upon, as well as being champion ball players the team could more than hold their own bending spaghetti around a fork. The invited guests included the managing officials of Joseph Fahys & Co. as well as the captains of the various unsuccessful teams.
