Art League of Long Island Invites the Community to Discover Their Creative Side
at Free Open House
The Art League of Long Island (ALLI) welcomes the community to its
annual Open House on Saturday, August 8, inviting visitors of all ages to explore
Long Island premier visual arts center and experience everything it has to offer.
Whether you're a beginner looking to try something new or an experienced artist
seeking to expand your skills, the Open House provides the perfect opportunity to tour
the Art League&studios, meet instructors, watch live demonstrations, and learn about
the wide variety of classes and workshops available this fall.
Guests will have the opportunity to:
● Tour professional studios for painting, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, photography,
printmaking, sculpture, digital arts, and more.
● Meet faculty members and staff.
● Watch artist demonstrations.
● Learn about youth, teen, and adult classes.
● Explore the Art League& galleries featuring contemporary exhibitions.
● Register for fall classes and receive guidance in selecting the right courses.
"The Open House is a wonderful opportunity for people to experience the creativity and
sense of community that make the Art League so special," said Executive Director
Marianne Della Croce. "Whether you've always wanted to learn to paint, throw pottery,
or simply become more involved in the arts, we invite everyone to come through our
doors and see what inspires them."
Serving Long Island for more than 65 years, the Art League of Long Island is a nonprofit
visual arts organization dedicated to providing high-quality arts education, exhibitions,
and cultural programming for people of all ages and abilities. Each year, thousands of
students participate in classes taught by professional teaching artists in a welcoming,
supportive environment.
Admission to the Open House is free, and all are welcome.

Narrated by the fictional Elias Deane Grimm Lohr, the novel chronicles several generations of one family beginning in pre-World War I Europe and continuing through major political and cultural developments of the twentieth century. Combining historical figures, fictional characters, dark humor and social satire, the story examines themes including war, nationalism, ideology, environmental stewardship, human folly and the relationship between civilization and progress.
"Every generation inherits both the achievements and the failures of those who came before it," Potter said. "Revelations of Grimm Lohr uses humor, history and imagination to explore that inheritance and to ask readers to look at the modern world with curiosity, skepticism and compassion."
