FITZ & CO and Contxt launch conversational intelligence layer redefining how the Venice Biennale is navigated
Connecting more than 190 exhibitions across the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia through ideas, thematic pathways, and a FITZ-curated selection
Venice, May 1, 2026 — FITZ & CO and Contxt announce the launch of Contxt Venice, a conversational intelligence layer spanning more than 900 artists showing and over 190 exhibitions taking place as part of and alongside the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 2026. Designed as a mobile-optimized, browser-based experience, Contxt Venice allows visitors to seamlessly design their own Biennale journey based on themes, ideas, and real-time location, no downloads required.

Contxt builds conversational intelligence for art and culture, scaling curatorial voices and enabling audiences to connect artists, artworks, movements, and ideas in new and meaningful ways. In Venice, where the Biennale and its concurrent exhibitions unfold across the city at a scale and density that can be difficult to navigate, Contxt Venice enables visitors to move fluidly across the program, discovering exhibitions not only by artist, venue, or location, but through the concepts that connect them.

The platform features selections curated by FITZ & CO, Contxt's launch partner in Venice, that offer a distinct lens through which to navigate the exhibitions. The FITZ & CO-curated selection is led by Founder & CEO, Sara Fitzmaurice, whose perspective is shaped by more than three decades working across the international art world, with deep engagement with the broader Venice Biennale landscape, including national pavilions, and collateral exhibitions. The selection organizes the Biennale into a set of thematic pathways, offering distinct ways of navigating the program beyond geography or institutional structure. These include Art and Technology, Regional Spotlight: Asia, and FITZ Founder Favorites.

Within these groupings, the selection highlights a range of practices shaping the current moment, from artists working at the intersection of algorithm and authorship to exhibitions engaging ritual, myth, surveillance, duration, and ecological systems.

Rather than prescribing a single route through Venice, Contxt Venice enables visitors to follow ideas as they emerge across pavilions, institutions, collateral shows, and off-site exhibitions, creating pathways that reflect their own interests and ways of seeing.

“The Biennale has always required a way of thinking as much as a way of navigating. With Contxt Venice, we’ve co-created a structure that allows visitors to move through Venice conceptually and physically, connecting exhibitions through ideas rather than proximity alone. It reflects how audiences are increasingly engaging with art today, across both traditional and digital contexts.”
Sara Fitzmaurice, Founder & CEO, FITZ & CO

“Venice has more context than any one visitor can hold at once. Contxt Venice allows you to follow a line of thought across the city, connecting works, exhibitions, and ideas in a way that feels intuitive and open-ended. Partnering with FITZ & CO brings a level of cultural intelligence and perspective that expands what Contxt can do.”
