OPEN CALL FOR THE CURATOR OF NARRACJE FESTIVAL | GDANSK, POLAND

Gdansk 2016 and Gdansk City Gallery are looking for an international curator of the fourth edition of “NARRACJE-Installations and Interventions in Public Space” Festival scheduled for November 2012 in Gdansk, Poland.
“Narracje–Interventions and Installations in Public Space” Festival is a presentation of large scale projections on buildings and all kinds of creative, innovative and unusual artistic activities taking place in public space within the Festival map. In 2012 the Festival will explore the area of the real Old Town adjacent to the Main Town, with its separated historical parts: Osiek and Zamczysko, located between the Main Town and the Gdańsk Shipyard, as well as the area of the Shipyard itself.

New York, NY—On March 9-11, Fountain Art Fair will open its doors at the 69th Regiment Armory for its seventh annual New York edition. An exhibition known for its vibrant energy, focus on daring emerging art, and disregard for convention, Fountain is committed to representing today’s most cutting-edge artists and galleries in its new home at the 69th Armory, a historical city landmark and site of the original 1913 Armory Show.

Fountain is thrilled to announce that space at the 69th Armory is nearly sold out! Only a handful of booths remain, and the deadline for applications is February 4th. Returning participants include Kesting/Ray, Mighty Tanaka, Lambert Fine Arts, Front Room Gallery, Sarah Trouche, and more. Some outstanding new exhibitors include Munch Gallery, creamhotel, Republic Worldwide, and Uprise Art. Gabriel Bisset-Smith is a writer/director/actor from London. He has had plays produced at the Hampstead Theatre, York Theatre Royal, Theatre 503, Old Vic, and BBC Radio Four. He’s been on attachment at the Soho Theatre and Royal Court, and developed new work at New York’s Public Theatre. He’s been a regular story contributor on Channel Four’s Skins, and has directed music videos for Golden Silvers. His short film “Thrush” won the Tenderpixel Audience Award at Rushes Soho Shorts, the Vimeo Best Narrative Award in New York, and the Disposable Film Festival Grand Jury Prize. He wrote and directed the short film “The Water Cooler” for the BBC, trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and has worked extensively on stage and screen. He was nominated for an Off West End Most Promising Playwright Award and is one half of comedy double act GUILT AND SHAME. His debut feature film is currently in development with Shine Pictures.
