CURATORS QUOTE

Disruption.  Reorganization.  A move to surprise, unsettle.  Or, in artistic terms, exactly that.

The abstract artist does not look at a canvas to recreate something seen but to reinterpret a confluence of things imagined.   Disruption is integral to the art sojourn.  Cubism challenged Impressionism and Dada and Surrealism moved the needle further until Abstract Expressionism arrived with less focus on the subconscious turmoil and more on the emotional intent.  The abstract artist presents the viewer with an invitation to ‘see what I see’ or ‘feel what I feel.’

Being our first spring exhibit, Shake It Up, seemed the perfect catalyst to encourage all to bloom.  Shake off any of those winter blues and re-ignite your passions.  As Picasso said, ‘Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

Aside from the two abstract artists featured in the exhibit, Shake It Up incorporates graffiti images that in their inherent inception and intent is to shake things up, alongside mixed media creations that juxtapose images in unexpected, yet surprising ways.  Diamond dusted icons make an appearance because, as the endless tabloids exposed, they always shook things up.   And then there are the photographs of legends who rattled the cage so loud it was deafening.

There is a certain beauty in the quiet but how lovely to have an alternative.

WonderCare teams up with Phillips to offer insurance protection on your art investments!

PRESS RELEASE

WONDERCARE ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH PHILLIPS IN ASSOCIATION WITH BACS & RUSSO TO STREAMLINE WATCH INSURANCE COVERAGE

Collaboration to Modernize the Insurance Experience for

Phillips’ Community of Watch Collectors Across the United States

NEW YORK – 31 MARCH 2026 – WonderCare, the collector‑focused luxury insurance platform founded by Kevin O’Leary, is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, the world‑renowned auction house celebrated for its industry leadership in watches. Through this exclusive collaboration, Phillips will become WonderCare’s official auction partner, bringing streamlined, best‑in‑class insurance solutions directly to U.S.-based collectors at the moment they acquire their next great timepiece.

The partnership brings WonderCare’s fully digital, real‑time insurance platform to the Phillips Watches ecosystem, ensuring clients can quickly and seamlessly protect their timepieces with tailored coverage backed by Chubb. The service will be available to U.S.-based collectors who acquire watches through Phillips’ live and online auctions in New York, as well as through the company’s private sales channel.

Kevin O’Leary, Chairman of WonderCare, said, “By partnering with Phillips, the worldwide leader in watch auctions, we’re embedding protection directly into the collecting experience. When a client wins an extraordinary timepiece, they should be able to insure it instantly with the same level of confidence and transparency they expect from the auction process.”

“At Phillips, we are continually exploring ways to enhance the client experience, especially in the world of luxury watches, where service, discretion, and quality are paramount” said Paul Boutros, Phillips’ Deputy Chairman and Head of Watches, Americas. “Collectors deserve a straightforward insurance experience that caters to the ways they buy, wear, and live with their watches throughout their everyday lives. Partnering with WonderCare allows us to offer collectors immediate peace of mind, ensuring that the exceptional pieces they acquire are protected with the same care and expertise that has come to define our auctions and exhibitions.”

As part of the collaboration, Phillips’ clients will gain access to WonderCare’s instant quote experience, digital certificate management, global protection, and concierge‑level service designed specifically for high‑value watches. The integration also aims to streamline the insurance process for auction buyers, significantly reducing the administrative burden collectors often face after major purchases.

WonderCare’s platform, built by insurance industry veterans and powered by advanced digital underwriting, was designed to address gaps in traditional homeowners and scheduled‑property policies. Collectors gain transparent coverage, fast claims resolution, and flexible policy management tailored to luxury assets that move with their owners.

The partnership will roll out alongside Phillips’ New York Sessions, its first US-based watch auction of the year, which is open for bidding from 1-8 April 2026. Additional collector‑focused programs and events will be announced in due course.
