Fourth Edition of UNTITLED, ART San Francisco and Miami, Cacth the news

Exhibitors and new Partnerships announced for the Fourth Edition of UNTITLED, ART San Francisco
UNTITLED, ART is pleased to announce the 60 international galleries and nonprofit arts organizations participating in the fourth edition of UNTITLED, ART San Francisco. In addition, UNTITLED, ART welcomes an expanded Ambassadors Committee, new fair partners including eBay and Facebook, and Brian Boucher as the inaugural UNTITLED, ART San Francisco Writer in Residence.

International Galleries

60 international galleries and nonprofit arts organizations, from more than 12 countries and 20 cities, will participate in the fourth edition of UNTITLED, ART San Francisco. The fair will feature presentations by leading contemporary artists as well as influential figures from the 20th century.

Expanded Ambassadors Committee
“The fair allows our community to discover new galleries and artists from all over the world, while also being supportive of local galleries, artists, museums, and nonprofit organizations.” Deborahand Andy Rappaport, Co-Founders, Minnesota Street Project.
The Ambassadors Committee comprises many of the Bay Area’s top art collectors, museum directors, curators, art advisors, and other arts leaders. 23 new individuals and couples have been added for 2020; see the full list of Ambassadors here.

New Partnerships
The $10,000 eBay Booth Prize will be awarded to a participating gallery at UNTITLED, ART San Francisco 2020. The winner will be announced at the fair on Friday, January 17, 2020, following selection by a jury of Bay Area museum directors and curators, including S. Sayre Batton, Oshman Executive Director, San José Museum of Art, and Abby Chen, Head of the Contemporary Art Department, Asian Art Museum.
Connecting with the extensive classic car community in the Bay Area and greater California, UNTITLED, ART San Francisco welcomes Hagerty® as a fair Partner. The Hagerty® DriveShare program will be featured in the company’s on-site fair activation.
Facebook joins the fourth edition of UNTITLED, ART San Francisco as an Associate Partner, with a special on-site presentation by the writer and textile artist Kira Dominguez Hultgren. Organized by the Facebook Art Department, a newly commissioned, large-scale artwork by Dominguez Hultgren will grow and evolve throughout the duration of the fair, as the artist will be present, adding to her work and interacting with fairgoers.
January 2020 will see the launch of a new three-year emergency fund supported by UNTITLED, ART. The &Art& Emergency Fund will offer immediate assistance to artists who live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area or have graduated with a visual arts degree from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Brian Boucher, Writer in Residence 
New York–based art writer Brian Boucher will be the inaugural Writer in Residence for UNTITLED, ART San Francisco, publishing daily dispatches on highlights at the fair and around San Francisco.
A seasoned critic and journalist, Brian Boucher has written for publications including New York Magazine, artnet News, Art in America, and The Art Newspaper, covering major developments in the art world and writing about some of the world's most respected artists.

20th Annual HamptonsFilm Screenwriters Lab Returns April 3-5, 2020

Lab Funded with Support from Melissa Mathison Fund for Female Screenwriters

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the HamptonsFilm Screenwriters Lab (April 3-5, 2020) champions the artistic visions of up-and-coming filmmakers from around the world. An intimate gathering taking place each spring in Sag Harbor, NY, the Lab fosters emerging talent by pairing selected fellows with established writers and creative producers for a weekend of one-on-one mentorship. Over the course of the weekend, these film industry veterans advise the participating fellows on their feature length projects in a series of individual and group development sessions. Additional events include an annual Master Class hosted by a celebrated screenwriter and a networking cocktail reception with board members, patrons, alumni, and members of the local artistic community.

Submissions are now open for feature length scripts of all types and about all subject matter:

Earlybird Deadline: November 26, 2019
Regular Deadline: December 10, 2019
Late Deadline: December 27, 2019
Extended Deadline: January 3, 2020

Since its inception, over fifty screenplays have taken part in the Lab. Recent projects include Annabelle Attanasio’s Mickey and the Bear (SXSW 2019, ACID Cannes 2019), Michael Tyburski and Ben Nabors’ The Sound of Silence (Sundance 2019, SIFF 2019), Cathy Yan’s Dead Pigs (Sundance 2018, BFI London Film Festival 2018), Christina Choe’s Nancy (Sundance 2018, Film Independent Spirit Award Nominee for Best First Screenplay), and Ísold Uggadóttir’s And Breathe Normally (Sundance 2018, AFI Fest 2018).

Other selected highlights include 
Destin Daniel Cretton’s Short Term 12, starring Academy Award®-winning actors Brie Larson and Rami Malek, which won the Grand Jury and Audience Award at SXSW in 2013; Justin Schwartz’s The Discoverers, starring Griffin Dunne, which made its world premiere at HIFF 2012; Sara Colangelo’s Little Accidents, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, starring Elizabeth Banks and Chloe Sevigny; and Claudia Myers’s Fort Bliss, starring Michelle Monaghan and Ron Livingston, which was released in 2014. With projects from participating fellows produced year after year, the Screenwriters Lab continues to be an inspiring and safe space for artists to find and hone their creative vision.

Karen Margolis graduated with a BS in Psychology from Colorado State University and studied at the School of Visual Arts, New York. She is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (1999) and a recent commission by the Metropolitan Transit Authority to create a site-specific mosaic for a New York City subway station. Margolis participated in the 2016 Paper Biennial at the Rijswijk Museum, The Hague, Netherlands, and has exhibited at galleries and institutions including Garis & Hahn, New York; Muriel Guepin, New York; and Bridgewater University, Bridgewater, MA. Karen’s work is currently in a traveling show “cut up/cut out,” which will be featured in regional museums around the country. Her work is included in public and private collections in the US and abroad.

Art League of Long Island Announces Winners of 64th Annual Members’ Exhibition:  Part One

Exhibition Juror Dan Christoffel has selected six artists to receive awards of excellence and honorable mentions in Part One of the Art League of Long Island’s 64th Annual Members’ Exhibition.  Part One of the exhibit feature 88 works of art and is on view in the Art League’s Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery through December 1.

The exhibition juror will discuss his selections at a Gallery Talk on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 7:30pm.  The event is free and open to the public. 

About the juror:  Dan Christoffel is a national and international exhibiting artist with fifty-eight years teaching experience. Teaching both undergraduate and graduate arts classes at LIU Post, Dan is committed to excellence in education. With expertise in oil painting, drawing, terra cotta, stone, steel sculpture and printmaking, Dan is an accomplished portrait
artist. Guest lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dan has also served as past president of the Long Island Art Teachers Association, former member of the Art League of LI Board, and former curator for the Partnership for Cultural Development at the Chelsea Center in Muttontown

The Art League of Long Island is located at 107 East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills. November 10, 2019–February 23, 2020
Artists Choose Artists is the Parrish Art Museum’s triennial exhibition that highlights the dynamic relationships among the multi-generational artist community of Long Island’s East End. Artists Choose Artists is designed to catalyze creative networks and encourage mentorship and conversations between artists at varying stages in their careers.
Seven notable artists of the region will jury the exhibition. Each juror selects two artists based on submissions and subsequent studio visits. The exhibition will comprise the work of the seven jurors and the fourteen artists and may include painting, sculpture, photography, prints, and mixed media.
