Markowicz Fine Art : Carol Feuerman, Miami Jan14-Feb, 29th,

Feuerman's The Message in painted bronze, photograph © 2015 Sean O'Connell

MIAMI, FL – January 14, 2016 – Markowicz Fine Art, from the Miami Design District, is pleased to announce the gallery will be
exhibiting world-renowned sculptor Carole A. Feuerman’s hyperrealistic sculptures starting January 24th, 2016, through February 29th, 2016.

Markowicz Fine Art will be one of only two galleries in the United States to hold a permanent collection of sculptures in various techniques by Feuerman.

To celebrate the new long-term partnership, Markowicz Fine Art will host a private media and collectors only preview party of Feuerman’s new collection – including miniature versions of her iconic water sculptures – on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. at the gallery in the Miami Design District. Feuerman will meet-and-greet attendees, and sign copies of her new book “Swimmers” and have a silk screen print made especially for the event.

Feuerman held a splashing pop-up exhibition with more than 10 pieces in Miami during Art Basel 2015 at the National Hotel in Miami Beach, including “The Golden Mean,” a 16-foot male diver statue representing the struggles to achieve perfect balance; and her iconic “Survival of Serena.” “The Golden Mean” is still on display at the hotel through November 2016.

Known for her monumental sculptures of the human form, Feuerman is the only figurative artist to hyper-realistically paint bronze for use in outdoor public art. Actively sculpting and exhibiting since the late 70’s, Feuerman is called the “Doyenne of Hyperrealism.” She is also the originator of the “painting with fire” technique, in which she pours, splatters and splashes six or more different molten metals to create unique art.

Through her work, Feuerman explores the three-dimensional world of figurative sculpture. Her interest in realism is indicative of her desire to sculpt the human body; forging historical links with the past while revealing her compelling vision for the future.  Included in numerous notable biennales and public collections, Feuerman continues to push the boundaries of sculpture. Her private collectors include the Emperor of Japan, Mr. William and Hillary Clinton, Norman Brahman, the Caldic Collection, Mark Parker, William Mack, Ariella Wertheimer, Robert Hurst, and Malcolm Forbes. In 2011, the Carole A. Feuerman Sculpture Foundation was formed in order to generate excitement and passion for the arts and to inspire and reward deserving artists with exhibition opportunities and internships for college credit and grants.

Feuerman’s solo exhibitions can be seen in Italy, Germany and China, and has several national public collections from New York to California. Several of her sculptures in bronze are owned and permanently installed in public, including “The Golden Mean,” which stands in Riverfront Green Park overlooking the Hudson River in Peekskill, New York, and “The Double Diver,” in Sunnyvale, California.  Sculptures in various techniques by Feuerman have been acquired for the permanent collections of nineteen American art museums. Feuerman’s exclusive collection in Miami is represented by Markowicz Fine Art.
