CALL TO ARTISTS: JURIED SCULPTURE EXHIBITION JUDGED BY WILLARD BOEPPLE JUNE 25 - JUNE 30 OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY, JUNE 25, 6-9PM DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9TH, MIDNIGHT NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS! SCULPTURE will be the final exhibition in the series of four media specific exhibitions. 20 artists will be selected by our juror Willard Boepple for the group show at Rogue Space. Five artists from each show will go forward to a "Best of Show" Exhibition featuring 20 works, from which one artist will be chosen to receive a weekend solo show at Rogue Space | Chelsea and a documentary film produced by our sister companyFilmsOnArtists. ABOUT THE JUROR: WILLARD BOEPPLE was born in Bennington and educated at UC Berkeley, RISD and CCNY. Willard has shown regularly in New York since the early seventies where he is represented by Lori Bookstein Fine Art. He is represented in the UK by Broadbent Gallery, London. He has taught at Bennington College and the Boston Museum School and traveled extensively in Africa as a U.S. A State Dept Visiting Cultural Specialist. He is Chairman of the Triangle Artists' Workshop and serves on the board of the Vermont Studio Center.His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Storm King Art Center and The Fitz-William Museum, Goodwood and Yorkshire Sculpture Parks in England among many collections both public and private. He lives and works in North Bennington and New York.

First Fine Art Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art

in Nearly a Decade

On May 21, 2010, the first international SF Fine Art Fair in nearly a decade will open its doors to the public for three days of art, lectures, and events. Featuring 75+ worldwide galleries, and displaying over 6000 modern and contemporary artworks

by more than 500 artists, the SF Fine Art Fair will take place May 21st - May 23rd at Fort Mason's Festival Pavilion.

Attendees to the SF Fine Art Fair will have the opportunity to view and purchase works from collections held by galleries from across the globe, in a 50,000 sq. ft. setting designed to highlight a spectacular selection of modern and contemporary paintings, works on paper, drawings, printed editions, photography, and sculpture (both indoors and outdoors) by the world's leading artists.

Notes SF Fine Art Fair Executive Director Rick Friedman, “We’re excited to launch the new SF Fine Art Fair and to create an annual event that brings together hundreds of modern and contemporary artworks from an international array of galleries. In celebration of the launch of the 2010 SF Fine Art Fair and the fantastic local support we’ve been receiving, we decided to direct a portion of the Fair's funds towards highlighting the rich culture of arts in the Bay Area. To that end, we’re hosting a fundraising event to help an internationally renowned San Francisco arts institution; honoring a local long time dedicated supporter of the arts; and providing financial support to an important local arts and technology organization for the installation of a truly magnificent entrance sculpture.”
