Meet the 2024 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellows, Finalists, and PanelistsNYFA has announced the recipients and finalists of the NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship program, which it has administered for the past 39 years with leadership support from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
NYFA has awarded a total of $696,000 to 87 artists (including 3 collaborations) throughout New York State, whose ages range from 25-79 years, in the following disciplines: Fiction, Folk/Traditional Arts, Interdisciplinary Work, Painting, and Video/Film. This year, for the first time, finalists were also recognized with unrestricted cash grants of $1,000.

NYFA Top Stories Anonymous Was A Woman and NYFA Announce 2024 Environmental Art Grants Recipients | In the 2024 cycle, the third year of the program, a total of $308,000 in grant funding was awarded to 19 projects that will focus on environmental issues and advocacy in locations including Ghana, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Louisiana, New Mexico, Michigan, and Oklahoma. Rauschenberg Emergency Grants | NYFA, in partnership with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, offers two grant programs for artists in emergency situations: the Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants and Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program. These grants will be offered on a regular basis through at least June 2025. |

NYFA Calendar APPLY By 5:00 PM ET August 27 | (Cycle 14) Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants This national program provides one-time grants of up to $3,000 to professional dancers in need, who are in a dire financial emergency due to the loss or lack of recent/current live performance work, because of circumstances outside of their control. You must demonstrate an urgent and critical need for emergency support in your application, and live in the United States, the District of Columbia, a Tribal Nation, or a U.S. Territory.

September 7, 4:30 PM ET | NYFA Artist Resources and Services Talk in Narrowsburg, NY Whether you’re trying to raise money to finish a particular project, seeking feedback on your work, looking for an artist residency, or trying to find a job, NYFA has resources that you can use to help you sustain and grow your artistic practice. We'll present an overview of our free and low-cost national programs and services, and Delaware Valley Arts Alliance will share an overview of the grants and services it offers to local artists.
September 10, 6:00 PM ET Online | Build Your Own Table: Writers on Self-Publishing This session will offer attendees strategies and best practices for publishing your work independently, from the perspective of writers with experience in both traditional and self-publishing. Topics will include: choosing the right platform(s) for one’s work; building a model of sharing work that keeps an audience engaged; monetizing a subscription service like a Substack; and more.
OPENING SOON Opens 10:00 AM ET September 3 | (Cycle 26) Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants This national program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography and live in the United States, the District of Columbia, a Tribal Nation, or a U.S. Territory. Grants may be requested for expenses already paid, pending, or for treatment the artist is putting off due to lack of funds.
