On Long Island Doug Reina Classes offered.

Saturday Art Classes at Doug Reina Art Studio starting in March

For all of you who have been interested in taking art classes here, but can't make it to the on-going Thursday class, this is for you. Classes will be held on 3/2, 3/9, 3/23 and 3/30

Classes here at the studio are structured to suit the individual needs of each student, with an emphasis on developing their own unique, creative approach to painting.

Beginners to experienced painters are welcome.

The Saturday class gives the student the choice to work in either a three hour session, or if they wish to continue working, they can stay for an additional two hours and complete a 5 hour session.

For those of you who would like to try oil painting, but don't have any any paint, I am offering, for an additional fee, an option where I provide an easel and paint.

Pricing

3 hour class is $60 - if a student needs to use my supplies, it's $75
5 hour class is $80 - if a student needs to use my supplies, it's $90

The space in my studio is limited - I can accommodate up to 6 students.
If you'd like to reserve a space in a class, email me the date you'd like to attend. My email is art@dougreina.com

There is also some room in my Thursday class if you're interested in that. Please note, I do not offer a 5 hour session for that class.

If you would like to take a class but can't make these times, let me know if there's another time that works better for you. I am even open to the idea of doing some one on one sessions.

Thank you everybody. Hope to hear from some of you soon.
- Doug

Eric Zener, Summer Wormhole, Mixed Media Resin, 30" x 41"
August is around the corner, and dreams of relaxing by the pool are inspiring us to highlight Eric Zener's tantalizing paintings in the Summer Group Show.

Zener's Rejoining Again and Rejoining Again II put a surreal spin on a dip in the pool. At 48" x 38" these two modestly sized canvases are a rare combination to come out of the studio.

Zener's liquidy resin pieces, All Clear Ahead and Summer Wormhole, give us a poolside buzz just looking at them. Zener manipulates resin to mimic the transparency and vivid gleam of water.

Stop in to see these paintings, along with many others, at the Summer Group Show!

SagHarbor Museum: When The World Was Wood

When The World Was Wood

Curated by Richard Doctorow

Opening Reception: Friday, July 20th from 6:00 to 8:00pm

Living in a time when virtually every object we use in our daily lives is made of metal, plastic or some new cutting-edge, high-tech material, it is hard to imagine a time when almost everything was made of wood. But for the first two centuries of America’s history, wood was not only the most prevalent choice of material, it was often the only choice – so much so that historians sometimes call the years 1650 to 1850 “America’s Wood Age.”
When The World Was Wood explores this amazing period in America’s history by presenting some 100 objects (primarily from the 19th century) that are made of wood. Not only objects that we might expect - utensils, bowls, barrels, buckets, signs, toys and tools - but also those that are delightfully surprising, including a tricycle, gears for a tower clock, and even a washing machine manufactured right here in Sag Harbor in the 1860s.
