Antigonick, Anne Carson's remarkable translation/adaptation of Sophocles' canonical Antigone, is among the first representations of truth speaking to power. Antigone seeks to give a brother a proper burial, but King Kreon has declared him a traitor, unfit for such recognition. Love, duty, and civil order are all at stake here, and everyone is right. As Anne Carson writes, Antigone wants us to listen to the sound "of what happens when everything normal, musical, careful, conventional or pious is taken away." Brittney Brady's direction will use the whole of Marcus Jansen's remarkable studio/warehouse, and the audience will become citizens of Thebes, guided by the Chorus, in this play of witnessing.

While we have seating throughout the studio, this will be an ambulatory experience for our audience. We recommend that you wear sensible shoes, as your stay in Kreon's house will involve walking. Photography of any kind is not permitted in Kreon's house.
