TBA continues to promote land-based learning and our kinship with one another through contemporary art. Engage with our Mobile Arts Curriculum learning tools on our website and download and print them for free! These 7 learning tools are Ontario Curriculum supportive and created in close collaboration with artists, educators, and contributors including Dr. Carolyn King, Timothy Yanick Hunter, and Ange Loft. ‘The sky held me’ by Tanya Lukin Linklater
Date: Saturday October 15, 2022 | 3–4pm
Location: Textile Museum of Canada, 55 Centre Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 2H5 Program Description:
In the context of her commission for the 2022 Toronto Biennial of Art, artist Tanya Lukin Linklater generated projects in relation to water, weather and embodiment. As part of this ongoing work, Lukin Linklater will undertake a performative lecture at the Textile Museum of Canada to coincide with the release of her publication of written scores for dancers working with her from a distance during the pandemic; these scores were used for her 2022 TBA video work, 'Sensation is a circuit of experience, a circuit of the felt travelling in and adjacent to the body,' which will also be screened at this event. This program is a part of the Creatives in Residence series by Ontario Culture Days, in partnership with Toronto Biennial of Art and the Textile Museum of Canada. |
