Chelsea Music Festival announces Family Event: Every Storybook Counts at St. Paul’s German Church, 315 W. 22nd St, NYC, set for Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 10:30am–12pm. Tickets are free and can be reserved here. Grab your friends, kids, and neighbors and join us at this free, family-friendly gathering. Join us for activities that highlight American composers, interactive storytelling with music, and bookmaking for your stories! Adults must be accompanied by a child. This event will feature visual artist Paul Collins’ exhibition of selected books from his Unbannable Library project. RSVPs are required. Paul Collins is an artist and teacher in Nashville, TN. Paul has an MFA from Yale University and has been a resident at Skowhegan, the MacDowell Colony, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Hambidge Center, and the Vermont Studio Center. Paul teaches at Austin Peay State University. Paul is an advocacy publisher developing public art projects that celebrate the diverse stories that make my community specific, real, and magnificent. Current ongoing projects include @unbannablelibrary and @unzinenashville. And, of course, drawing: I'm always going somewhere and drawing to try to learn & figure things out. The Unbannable Library is a community effort to fight censorship and intimidation in our libraries. Teams of artists, writers, teachers, librarians, and students are joining forces to create larger-than-life interactive book sculptures based on banned books and original written works of singular voice and experience. Designed for display and use at libraries everywhere, this rich collection of interactive book sculptures is literally TOO BIG to ban. The result of collaborations between local artists, writers, teachers, students, and community members, these unique larger-than-life books employ text and image to draw attention to the voices and stories subject to censorship. In 2024 and 2025, this exhibition spanned a dozen sites across Middle Tennessee, New York, and Kentucky to allow wide access for viewers to experience and interact with the voices of those affected by book bans. Another international cultural exhibition: Free Fall into a Standing Position Sac collaboration with Galeria Catinca Tabacaru

Ovidiu Toader: Free Fall into a Standing Position Opening: June 9, 2026 | 7 PM @ Cărturești Carusel, Bucharest /SAC Bucharest in collaboration with Galeria Catinca Tabacaru, is pleased to present Free Fall into a Standing Position, a new solo exhibition by Ovidiu Toader, curated by Anne-Marie Lolea. Bringing together sculpture, drawing, and spatial intervention, the exhibition reflects the artist’s ongoing interest in movement, transformation, and states of transition. Conceived around a newly commissioned large-scale sculptural work, the project examines moments of instability and balance, inviting viewers to consider how bodies, objects, and histories are shaped through processes of change. Working across sculpture, drawing, analogue photography, and natural materials, Toader develops immersive environments that blur the boundaries between poetic speculation and material inquiry. His works have been included in exhibitions at the Maramotti Collection in Reggio Emilia, Art Encounters Foundation and the French Institute in Timisoara, International Cultural Center Krakow as part of the Ovidiu Sandor Collection, and the Cultural Institute in Berlin. Then, former Stony Brook University Intern Savannah Ithier shares the work of contemporary queer artists who explore gender representation in their art.
