Les compositions minutieusement réfléchies de Bernard Boyer – le fruit de multiples étapes d’élaboration – donnent à voir des formes enflées et vaguement protozoaires qui s’enchevêtrent les unes dans les autres, ou glissent en suspens sur fond monochromatique, indiquent l’affinité de Boyer pour une figuration abstraite : ni tout à fait définissables, ni entièrement sans assise dans le réel, ses formes en fuseau, aux contours souvent protubérants ou perforés, gravitent entre le sublime et le déconnant, et révèlent une affinité élective pour le grotesque. The Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival presents artists and their work against the splendid setting of Renaissance at Colony Park, a regional lifestyle center renowned for its shopping, dining and entertainment experiences as well as for its graceful, Old-World architecture. The City of Ridgeland has grown from a quiet suburb of Jackson, the state capital, to a vibrant hub for the arts and a premier retail and dining venue. The Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival is the centerpiece of Ridgeland’s signature festival, Art, Wine & Wheels, which also includes the Natchez Trace Century Ride, a recreational bicycle ride with 1,000 riders on the historic Natchez Trace and a sampling of a variety of fine wines.   The show was recently awarded the Southeast Tourism Society's Top 20 Events Champion award and recognized by AAA's "Southern Traveler" magazine as a Southern Travel Treasure. Arte Laguna Prize 17: registration deadline extended to November 22nd   The exhibition at the Arsenale of Venice  will be the first in a series of international events in 2023

Venice - Arte Laguna Prize extends the call for artists and designers to November 22, 2022   The jury will select between December and January the 120 finalists who will exhibit in the suggestive 4,000 square meters of the Arsenale Nord of Venice from 11 March to 16 April 2023. The jurors, as in every edition, are new and important names in the current artistic panorama and this year they come from the African, European and American continents: Mohamed Benhadj, curator for the territories of North Africa and Spain and founder of AlTiba9; Raphael Chikukwa, director of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe; Giulia Colletti, digital curator for the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art in Turin; Paul di Felice, curator, critic and art historian based in Luxembourg; Chloé Hodge project manager at Tate Britain in London, curator and producer; Dick Spierenburg, creative director of IMM - Cologne International Furniture Fair; Xiaoyu Weng, curator based in New York and Toronto, head of Modern and Contemporary Art at AGO, the Art Gallery of Ontario. Alongside the jury there will also be the Advisory Council composed this year by the art critic and curator Luca Beatrice, Alberto Torsello winner of the Compasso d'Oro 2018 and Xing Dong honorary president of the China Fujian Graphic Design Association (Fgda), Artistic Director of Mansion Art Museum and Artistic Director of Xiamen Ximind Culture Center.   The works evaluated will be from the sections of: painting, sculpture and installation, photographic art, video art and short films, digital art, digital graphics and cartoon, land art, urban and street art, performance, art design.   All the opportunities for artists and designers: the collective exhibition at the Arsenale of Venice from 11 March to 16 April 2023; a solo exhibition at the Cris Contini Contemporary Gallery in London; art residencies at BigCi in Australia, Espronceda in Barcelona, Farm Cultural Park in Favara, Sicily, Fabrica Benetton in Treviso, Fonderia Artistica Versiliese in Pietrasanta (LU); an exhibition of video art works in Beijing; € 5,000 for the realization of a site-specif installation for Roberto Cipresso Winery in Siena with an art residency included; € 3,000 for a special prize dedicated to Sustainable Art and focused on the artistic reuse of cork.
