Often referenced as a 'modern-day Hogarth', Dant’s cartographic commission is set to bring to life all manner of hospital tales in 900 illustrated stories from 1123 to present day. We’re thrilled to be working on this extraordinary commission and will be publishing a limited editioned print as part of the project. Throughout his career, David always worked on smaller more accessible paintings as a way to move through ideas quickly and at this point in his life, he felt the urgency to create while he still could. Davidunderstood printmaking was a great way to spread his ‘magic’ to a wider audience than a single painting.  Spiller created original artworks specifically for prints, painting from scratch individual works specifically for printmaking. Art League of Long Island’s Annual Members’ Exhibition

Art League of Long Island Announces Winners of its 66th Members’ Exhibition Part I

 

 

 

Part One of the Art League of Long Island’s Annual Members’ Exhibition features 86 works of art created by their many talented members.   Artists from all walks of life, those just beginning their journey into the visual arts and established exhibiting artists, have put their best foot forward exhibiting their artwork in mediums such as painting, drawing, collage, photography, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, glass art, wood, graphic art, and more.

 

Entry into the exhibit is open to all Art League members and not pre-screened by a juror.  Awards of excellence and honorable mentions of the art on display have been selected by guest juror Barbara Applegate who served as Director of the Hillwood Art Museum for more than 15 years.

 

Due to the large number of works, the exhibit is shown alphabetically in two parts:  Part One (M-Z) and Part Two (A-L).  Part One of Members’ Exhibition Winter 2022-23 exhibits November 5 through November 29.  The artists’ receptions and awards presentation for Part I takes place Saturday, November 12, 1:00pm-3:00pm.  Part Two exhibition runs December 12, 2022 to January 26, 2023.

Pérez Collection— This exhibition highlights works acquired since 2017 as part of an ongoing investigation and interest in Cuban and Cuban diaspora art. Rather than a historical survey of the history of Cuban art, the thematic exhibition brings together over 100 artists of different generations who share collective experiences yet take a very personal approach to their practice.
