MARCO SASSONE

Recent Works

November 07 - December 10, 2021

Berenson Fine Art has the pleasure of presenting a digital exhibition of recent works by Marco Sassone. The show, which runs from November 7th, thought December 10th, 2021, features two oil paintings and ten watercolors, in grand part created by the artist during the COVID-19 lockdown in Toronto.

The Venetian Lagoon inspired this suite of watercolours with its reflective surfaces of narrow canals — a rare collection of small format works, appropriate for all those significant little spots of a collector’s home.

As I reflected on the strange experience of lockdown and how I might have imagined approaching the subject in my painting, I concluded that I had no need to address those feelings of solitude and self-isolation. Instead, I thought of the quote by the writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, who said, ‘Beauty will save the world,’ and began to visualize subjects whose beauty might help soothe the soul…I found myself returning to my early years of en plein air painting…and felt an unexpected pull toward those images… A silent rhythm was established as I returned to the act of painting, and from the period of seclusion that followed, a new series emerged with a palette of lively colors and complementary brushwork.

Monumental Moments – The Hug

Monumental Moments – The Hug, another monumental work by Cuban born Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada. This 10-foot-tall bronze sculpture was unveiled at New York City’s Lincoln Center. The sculpture immortalizes and celebrates the human spirit and the resilience of all those who have been impacted by the social distancing and challenges associated with the pandemic.

Unveiled ahead of World Mental Health Day, this work recognizes the importance of connecting, support and touch, as so many have longed to embrace their loved ones during these times.

Arturo Rodriguez works acquired by the Whitney

Four works of Arturo Rodríguez’s School of Night were acquired by the Whitney Museum of American Art.

As an American artist born in Cuba, it is a very special honor for me to be part of the Whitney Museum’s Collection. This, in many ways, showcases the representative idea and a concept of what is the United States of America,” expresses the artist himself, Arturo Rodríguez.

Catch te Southampton Arts Center " I am" concert proformance Oct. 330@ 7PM

"I AM" CONCEPT ART PERFORMANCE
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30 @ 7 PM

Multidisciplinary artist Aima Saint-Hunon pursues forms and curves, a mix of maturity and sensuality found in her audience and herself. Her work explores the intersection of emotion, sensuality, and the reflection of the soul, while allowing the imagination of spectators to freely interpret the message for themselves.

The main theme of her performance “I Am: The Unity of the Sacred Femininity and Masculinity” is the imperial encounter of the inner marriage of female power and sacred masculinity. The performance and the artworks aim to offer a reflection sweeping the viewer towards the highest realms of the spirit.

We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 30 at 7 PM for this special concept art performance. Attendees are encouraged to dress up or come in costume! Refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. Special masks will be given to all guests to all for COVID-safe indoor consumption.
